It was a busy weekend for Seaboard Southern. On Saturday 7th February members attended our monthly Operating session at our dedicated club room in Crawley. A member even brought down one of his Chinese locomotives to run - not just American modellers here!

One of our members was also exhibiting his fantastic American HO switching layout, Broken Creek, at Alton Model Railway Groups exhibition, FebEx 2026. A few members from the club helped out on the Saturday and the Sunday. A really great exhibition that was very well run by the Alton Group, and consequently very well attended. A video of a few of the layouts can be found on our YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/uvGeop_XCGI?si=5HsKcM8oSfj6nwUK

All in all a great weekend!

In February 2020 we reached the top of the helix. The plan for Warren Junction changed as we negotiated the complexity of reversing sections. 5 Years later we think we have solved the complexity as we install Block Detection and signalling.

We have been making progress on our new N scale layout. This layout will draw inspiration from elevated railroads such as the New York High Line (previously the West Side Line) along with others in cities across the US.

We started by initially laying track over the plan to iron out any issues that may arise between the CAD plan and reality. Next step will be to transfer the track onto the modules. More regular updates to come, so stay tuned.
