A huge thanks to everyone that dropped by our stall at the Big One over the weekend in Farnborough. It was great to meet members both old and new and so many people that showed an interest in the safer eel angling methods on display. The support and respect for the species from all age groups was evident and especially pleasing. Together we can give these special fish a voice and promote the respect they deserve. ❀️

As most of our members will be aware, the club book has now arrived from the printers and what a fantastic effort from NAC members, both past and present.

It takes the reader on a journey from the early formation, through six decades of NAC history, revealing the very essence of the club and its members. There are chapters on rigs, tactics, venues, baits and much more, along with many members stories including double figure eels and an exclusive on the current British Record. This epic production gives so much and really shows what a great club the NAC is and what great members we have.

The book would never have become a reality without all the help and contributions and without the amazing skills of Martin Mumby from https://www.facebook.com/catchcultanglingmag who has done a great job on the formatting. Much hard work and effort over a fair few years… but what a great end result.

Please bear with me as I get them posted out over the coming weeks and months to those that have ordered.

Apologies to those that missed the boat, Copies will be held back for new members, and a few spares may become available, so by all means register your interest here for one. https://www.nationalanguillaclub.co.uk/nac-club-book-enquiry

Thank you to all the contributors and apologies to those I kept nagging for material, it was the only way to make it happen. 😊

It was with great sadness that the club learned of the passing of Jim Gibbinson. Jim was the last surviving founding member of the NAC and part of the clubs famous 1965 Loch Ness expedition. He helped put the NAC on the map during its early years and went on to revolutionise fishing. He was an inspiration to generations of anglers, writing several exceptional books on specimen fishing to become one of the most respected anglers of his era. The club sends its deepest condolences to Jim's family. Rest in Peace. ❀️

A huge thanks on behalf of the NAC to Martin Mumby of Catch Cult Angling Magazine for his time, effort, skill and professionalism in assembling what will be a great book on behalf of the NAC and its members.

Our print run is booked in with Gomer for September and delivery of the 500 books is expected late 2025 / early 2026.

All those that registered their interest have now been contacted with an offer to purchase, so make sure you check your email that you registered with or drop a message below.

Apologies to those that may have missed that opportunity, but it was advertised for a few months with over 250 people registering.

The books are very limited and will be withdrawn from public sale once we hit a quota to protect remaining copies for current and future NAC members along with contributors.

Many of the contributors will be at the clubs Spring Social and AGM on the 21st March 2026 in Rugeley to sign copies.

A huge thanks to everyone that helped support this mammoth project and help produce a great book for the club. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
