Adult charged with forgery after attempting to enroll in high school

On October 22, 2026, a 29 year old male, Makayla Craig, who is homeless, was formally charged in Hennepin County District Court with felony aggravated forgery for allegedly attempting to enroll in Maple Grove Senior High as a student using false records. Craig is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail on $50,000 bail.

On October 19, 2026, a school district employee became suspicious of a student enrollment application. The employee notified a Maple Grove school resource officer, who initiated an investigation. On October 20, 2026, Maple Grove officers located Craig in a public parking ramp. He was arrested on probable cause charges, booked at the Maple Grove Police Department, and later taken to the Hennepin County Jail. Officers also learned that Craig is a registered s*x offender in Oregon.

Craig never completed enrollment with Maple Grove Senior High School, and he was never present on campus as a student or in any online classes. The Maple Grove Police Department credits the school district staff for their alertness with the incident, quick action to notify a school resource officer, and collaboration in the investigation. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as appropriate.

I tagged along with the John o'Groats Trail in Lybster on Saturday past as part of its 10th anniversary events with my interest in the The Northern Pilgrims Way which shares part of the route: after all what is, say, the Lands End John o'Groats route if not a secular pilgrimage?

After disembarking from the Ember bus at the Portland Arms and a stroll through the full length of this long village to Waterlines Lybster, there was a wee toddle along the southwards path with the guides.

This included a stop-off at the brethren well "to which many had frequented in times of superstition" as late as the 1720s, an antiquarian writing in the 1900s has said. The picture is from Betty Grieve after my attempt failed. I didn't catch the inscription on the stone, although recall the well had been used by a local family into the mid 20th Century.

There previously had been the Lybster Stone, an early Pictish incised stone with a Cross now residing at the local churchyard.

I'm presuming that this brethren were the Saints Andrew and Peter which early Pictish Bishop, Boniface (Rosemarkie not Wess*x) aka Saint Curetán had held that he was of the same genealogy as those two Apostles.

He had been active in the decades after the Synod of Whitby in 664 AD which settled the method for dating Easter in which the newer 19-year cycle favoured by the Alexandrian 19-year cycle adopted by Rome over the 84-year cycle still held by the Celtic/Iona Church; as well as the tonsure method for monks shaving their heads: the newer.

Part of the argument had been Peter held the keys to Heaven, thus Rome.

With this in mind and his believed ancestry, Curetán took to naming various religious sites including water grottos or holy wells in the Far North after Peter.
