We think most people, when they really stop and think about it, would agree that factory farming and the suffering and slaughter of animals is wrong.

But life is busy. We have work, bills, families, stress and a hundred other things competing for our attention.

Sometimes it feels easier not to think too deeply about where our food comes from.

Sometimes we simply don't want to believe that the reality could be as bad as it is.

So before you disagree, argue or scroll past, we’re asking you to pause for a moment.

You don't have to consider yourself an “animal person”. Just try to look at it with your heart.

Animals feel pain. They experience fear. They form bonds. They want to live. They may not speak our language, but that doesn't mean they don't suffer.

We all want the chance to survive, to feel safe and to enjoy a long, fulfilling life.

So why shouldn't they?

You don't have to have all the answers today. Just take a moment to acknowledge that they are here, they feel, and their lives matter too. 🐷💚

Die-hard meat eater? Why not come and meet the animals at Pear Tree as a little challenge to yourself?

We’re not here to force anyone into a particular way of thinking. We simply want to open minds and give people the opportunity to meet the animals they may never have had the chance to meet before.

Most of us are familiar with cats and dogs, but how often do you get to spend time with a pig, sheep or chicken?

Come for a calm, private experience, meet our rescued animals and see how you feel. There’s no hate, no pressure and no expectation. All we ask is that you come with an open mind.
