Today is , and we wanted to shine a light on the incredible work happening every single day in our Wildlife Unit. 🦔🦇🦢
Led by Lizzie and her dedicated team of carers, the unit can be home to hundreds of wild animals at any one time, all needing specialist care, treatment, feeding and somewhere safe to recover. ♥️
From tiny garden birds, bats, hedgehogs, mice and other small furries, to reptiles, foxes, badgers and swans, no two days are ever quite the same. Each animal arrives with its own story and its own needs, but the goal is always the same: to give them the very best chance of returning to the wild where they belong.
Behind the scenes, there are endless feeds to prepare, cages to clean, treatments to give and little lives to keep a close eye on. It is demanding, often emotional, and certainly never quiet!
So today, on National Wildlife Day, we want to say a huge thank you to Lizzie and everyone involved in caring for the wild visitors that come through our doors. 💚
The work might often happen quietly behind the scenes, but it makes a huge difference to hundreds upon hundreds of animals every year.
