The One Wellingborough Plus Community Resilience Project is being delivered by Victoria Centre with Dostiyo, Wellingborough Eco Group and GLJ Theatre, using funds received from Borough Council of Wellingborough and from Power to Change CCLORS Project. The One Wellingborough Plus project aims to bring people together, practically and emotionally, to help each other with a range of activities, help
ing people and groups in our community cope in these difficult and challenging times. The 3 main elements of the project are:
(a) Community Voice and Leadership - to enable Communities to be better heard and to come together to identify our challenges and act together to resolve them - creating a Community Resilience Forum to enable this
(b) Community Resilience Actions - working together to help people learn a range of new skills that help people and communities to become more resilient - such as setting up a Community Allotment, Swap Shop, Repair Club and a Timebank - helping us all to make the best of all resources available to us and rewarding people for their contribution
(c) Community Inclusion Actions - helping us ensure that those people often ‘left out’ or missed out also get to take part, be heard and be able to contribute - whether people excluded by language, culture, disability, gender, or age
Who we aim to help:
(a) People self-isolating, and their families
(b) People vulnerable because of the economic problems
(c) People and groups keen to help and provide support and make an impact
