Welcome to the Sri Lanka Muslim Community Mosque website. The new Mosque is fast-becoming a major focal point in the community and we would like this website to play an active role going forward. As most of you are aware the new mosque building is in the process of being built. The aim at the beginning of the project was to construct a purpose-built mosque that will service the community for years
to come. The construction of the new building is progressing well. The exterior building work is due to be completed by the end of 2008, once the minaret and dome are constructed. During the past few months fundraising activity has been extremely successful. In the blessed month of Ramadan, £..... was raised for the new mosque. This is a substantial amount of money and will help fund the next stage of the project. For the project to be completed, however, more money is required. We are therefore asking those members of the community who have not yet set up monthly standing orders to do so immediately. donation
We are also currently planning future fundraising events. If there are any members of the community who may be willing to sponsor any forthcoming events please contact a member of the Executive Committee. We are also looking for volunteers who may be able to assist the Executive Committee going forward in any fundraising initiatives.
