Saturday 18th Apirl.
We can now inform you all of what happend.
As you know from our previous post we got a phone call from an individual in Hanley area who had called the RSPCA, who told them to call the local out of hours vets, who then said to call us.
At 9.30pm the individual got in touch stating they think there are kittens in the garden under some tarpaulin, no other adult cats about they were asked to provide images as we ask everyone to do (especially at that time of night) but they refuse stating "I have severe anxiety and I’m not able to go and look again. Trust me I want to but I can".
I managed to get a volunteer to drive over there with me and i grabbed everything from towel, heat pads, gloves and also took my gloves i use for birds of pray incase they were fox cubs. We got there around 10.15pm after all the messages and the 30min drive.
What we ended up finding was shocking, I unfolded the tarpaulin and at the bottom was a rolled up part, as I unravelled it I saw 4 kittens. These kittens had no sign of life at all, stone cold and soaking wet but we tried to see if we could get them going, unfortunately as we started to work on them it became more obvious these poor innocent Kittens had been drowned.
Looking at them they were no more than a day old, the umbilical cord was still fresh. They had been drowned, wrapped in tarp and discarded.
I had to take them home, document everything and take pictures of these poor kittens.
Please if you need help reach out. If i cant help myself i can advise you on where to go or what to next.
Thank you so much to Zoe for driving there and back. With out transport volunteers and donation we simply couldn't keep doing what we are doing.
Some sides of rescue is upsetting and shocking but luckily the good out weight the bad.
Not adding images as its just not nice for anyone to see.
