This week at Washington Station WI, we held our Annual General Meeting, a lovely evening of reflection, conversation and looking ahead to the 2026/27 year to come ✨☕🍰
We were delighted to announce that Elaine Wright will continue as President for the forthcoming year 👏💐 We are incredibly grateful to Elaine for all of her service, commitment and hard work over the years, and we look forward to another year with her at the helm of our WI ❤️
A very special presentation was also made to Doreen Wilson, who this year celebrates an amazing 70 years as a member of Washington Station WI 🎉🌸 Doreen is our longest-standing member, joining aged 18, and is much loved and respected by us all. What a wonderful milestone to celebrate! 💖
Thank you to Evelyn Clark, WI Adviser, and Denise Elliot, trainee WI Adviser, for hosting the AGM, and to everyone who came along. As always, there was plenty of chat over cake and a cuppa ☕🍰 and we also spent time in table discussions led by our committee members to explore what our members would like from their WI in the coming year and beyond 💬🌿
It was a thoughtful and positive evening, and we’re excited for what’s ahead for Washington Station WI - look out for our new programme which we’ll post later ✨
