Columbia Community Association We are a small Community Centre. We have slots available if you want to book a Meeting or Party space.

We have several regular clubs, including Friendship Groups, Dance groups, Exercise Classes, Arts sessions & Sewing (subject to funding), and much more. Sharing for Washington Community Development Trust: Small grants are available to community groups and clubs in Washington through the Washington Community Development Trust Fund.

These grants can be used to purchase equipment and other items that support your group's activities.

With the River Wear right on our doorstep, it’s important to stay safe around the water — especially with the weather so hot this week ☀️

If you ever find yourself struggling in the water, try to remember: Float to Live.

• Tilt your head back and keep your ears under the water
• Relax and try to control your breathing
• Gently move your hands and legs to help you float
• Don’t worry if your legs sink — everyone floats differently
• Once you feel calmer, shout for help or swim to safety

Please keep an eye on children and look out for each other while enjoying the sunshine.
