ND BrainSpace – Happening tonight at 7:00–8:30pm

"As a neurodivergent person, I found the opportunity to share and discuss ideas/experiences really reassuring and valuable. I've left with a stronger coping mechanism/tool and everyone was super friendly."

ND BrainSpace offers a relaxed, welcoming environment to connect with others, share lived experiences, and explore everyday challenges together.

The group is run in partnership with Choose Your Way and is free to attend, thanks to the generous funding of Friends of Hastings House.

A free course to help people who have been bereaved to navigate their way through grief is being launched by Friends of Hastings House (FOHH), in August, in collaboration with Ataloss, a bereavement charity.

The Bereavement Journey, offered by AtaLoss, has been running for 30 years.

The Bereavement Journey consists of seven weekly sessions of films and guided discussions, each one themed to a different aspect of coming to terms with the loss of a loved one. After watching a film, attendees – limited to 20 – will break into small, confidential discussion groups, each hosted by a facilitator who has attended Cruse Bereavement Care training. Attendees will receive a workbook and journal, for their own private notes and reflections.

"At present there isn’t a service to support bereaved people in Wellesbourne, and we know that many patients of Hastings House Medical Centre would welcome it," Heidi Williams of Friends (FOHH).

"The course aims to equip people with the tools to carry on with life after loss," Revd Wendy Biddington.

The seventh optional session covers the religious aspects of grief but the course is open to everyone, of all faiths and none.

Funding has been provided by the sale of ‘post box topper’ 2026 calendars produced by Crafternoon Group members, which raised £1,035. "We are so pleased to be able to fund Friends for this much-needed course, and we hope it brings comfort and support to all who attend," Sandie Feltham of the Crafternoon group.

The Bereavement Journey starts on Monday 3 August at 7pm, and runs through to a social session at the end of September.

Information about the course is available at Hastings House surgery, where people can find out more and book their place.

Friends of Hastings House are delighted to share that our new Used Printer‑Cartridge Collection recycling initiative is already making a meaningful difference. Collection boxes have now been placed at Hastings House Medical Centre, The Community Hub, Body Balance Works and The One Stop, Bridge Street.

The first full bag of cartridges gathered has been sent to Recycle4Charity. We’re pleased to confirm that £30.50 will be paid to the charity in their next pay run.

A brilliant start to a simple initiative that turns everyday waste into community support. If you know anyone who might like to host a collection box at their workplace, or if friends and family can save their used cartridges for us, we would be incredibly grateful. Please do message us or comment below.

💚 Celebrating National Volunteers’ Week 💚

This week, we’re taking a moment to honour the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, and kindness to support Friends of Hastings House and the wider communities we serve.

To every volunteer, whether you help at events, support our wellbeing services, share our posts, fundraise, or quietly lend a hand behind the scenes - thank you. Your generosity is the heartbeat of our charity. You help us create spaces of care, connection, and support for people across Wellesbourne and beyond.

Your time truly makes a difference.
Your compassion strengthens our community.
And your willingness to show up again and again, means more than we can say.

We are so grateful for each and every one of you.
💚 Thank you for all that you do. 💚
