Warwick Tree Wardens

Warwick Tree Wardens Established in 2009, our aim is to promote public awareness of trees, that we can help maintain our existing trees & plant new ones.

Warwick Tree Warden Scheme was launched in 2009. We aim to promote public awareness of trees so that we can help maintain our existing trees and plant new trees wherever possible in Warwick District. There are currently 50 Tree Wardens who enjoy regular guided walks and meetings to help with tree identification, and tree and woodland management. The only pre-requisite to becoming a Tree Warden is

enthusiasm – you can do as little or much as you like. Some Tree Wardens participate in a variety of tree and hedge planting projects in schools, on local highways, village greens and nature reserves, as well as local & national tree surveys. We work closely with both Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council, who help us to identify new places to plant trees and who have been very supportive. The Scheme is open to all residents of Warwick District, which includes Kenilworth, Leamington and the surrounding villages and towns. Tree Wardens get free training, as well as a special pack of books and materials, which give some really useful information about trees and hedges.
