🚨 Photo Upload Update... Please read to the end 🚨

Good news (or bad news, depending on how much you've enjoyed seeing football photos appear on your timeline!)... we only have 58 photos left to upload after today's 10! 🎉⚽📸 Thanks Blue Ribbon Photos

For those who may have joined us recently, these amazing women took part in Gaynor's Goal Football Tournament on Saturday 18 April 2026, what would have been Gaynor's 51st Birthday.

Football was always one of Gaynor's greatest passions. Before serving with the Royal Military Police and later working in the Civil Service, she loved playing the game. During her Army career she represented the AGC, but as often happens, life, work and commitments gradually took over.

Fast forward to when Patricia suggested holding a formal black-tie dinner at Manchester United. It seemed like a sensible enough idea... until our good friend Pippa casually suggested, "Why don't we have a football match that morning as well?" 🤔⚽

And just like that....

The rest is history.

Women players from the Adjutant General's Corps SPS, RMP, ETS, The Royal Logistic Corps, both serving personnel and veterans, alongside a fantastic local women's football team, came together to support and raise awareness for St. Rocco's Hospice and Target Ovarian Cancer.

Whilst the football tournament may now be firmly in our rear-view mirror (apart from the remaining 58 photos... yes, we're counting), our mission continues.

Many of you will know that one of Gaynor's final wishes was for us to continue supporting the hospice in any way we could, whilst also raising awareness of ovarian cancer. That remains at the heart of everything we do.

So, what's next?

A relay challenge! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃

But this relay isn't just about miles covered or batons passed. In many ways, we're already taking part.

Yesterday, Patricia was playing pickleball at her David Lloyd Warrington gym whilst wearing her Gaynor's Goal T-shirt. At the end of the session, a lovely young man approached her to ask about the shirt. Patricia explained the story behind Gaynor's Goal and our mission.

His response stopped us in our tracks.

He shared that his own mother had sadly passed away from ovarian cancer in May 2025 and that he would like to support Gaynor's Goal in raising awareness.

That conversation wasn't planned. There was no event, no fundraiser, no social media campaign. Just a simple question about a BPB Projects T-shirt.

And that is exactly how we can pass the relay baton.

One conversation at a time.

One story at a time.

One person at a time.

Because every conversation creates awareness, every awareness creates understanding, and every understanding has the potential to save lives.

Plans for our relay challenge are well underway, and everyone who expressed an interest should now have received an email. If you registered your interest but haven't seen anything arrive, please send us a message here or email [email protected]

And don't worry... only 58 photos to go.

Unless someone discovers another memory card hidden in a drawer somewhere... 😬📸

What better way to spend a Friday night than watching Mac and Sarah on their YouTube channel while planning a solo road trip to Ireland?

Gaynor had already bought the Robbie Roams Road Trip Ireland book and had started planning our Irish adventure when she became poorly. When that illness was diagnosed as ovarian cancer, the plans stopped.

Well... sort of.

Gaynor was very clear that she still wanted Patricia to go on the adventures we had planned together.

It hasn’t been easy. Even watching YouTube for inspiration has brought a few “smokey eye” moments, as Gaynor would have been absolutely in her element on this road trip.

But before she died, she handed Patricia the baton and told her to complete the adventures she’d planned for them.

So tonight she has been sat with a map, notebook, pen, highlighter and, of course, a magnifying glass (a lady of a certain age needs the right equipment!) all essential tools for some proper map reading as she reaffirm the route.

Ireland holds a very special place in both their hearts. They shared wonderful memories there over the years (both South and North of the border) which makes this journey even more meaningful. While this trip won’t be quite the adventure they originally planned together, Gaynor will be with Patricia every mile of the way.

Linking this to the expression of interest for the Gaynor’s Goal Baton Challenge, we thought we would encompass a trial run across the water, catching up with a few friends along the way and seeing how the relay concept could work in real life.

The reason Gaynor’s Goal exists is simple. Gaynor’s ovarian cancer wasn’t diagnosed until it was advanced, and we want more people to know the symptoms and seek help early if something doesn’t feel right.

If sharing our story encourages just one person to recognise the signs earlier and seek medical advice, then Gaynor’s legacy continues to make a difference.

Ireland, we’re finally on our way. This one’s for you, Gaynor. ❤️🇮🇪

As we are coming to the end of sharing our photos from the Football Tournament, we're reminded that while the pictures may be finishing, our journey is far from over.

Our mission to raise awareness of ovarian cancer continues every single day, driven by the stories, conversations, and people behind our cause.

Today was another positive step forward as we had a fantastic conversation with the Dianne Oxberry Trust and Armed Forces Community HQ CIC, exploring how we can work collaboratively to expand our reach and make an even greater impact together.

It's important to remember our "why." Raising awareness, encouraging earlier diagnosis and supporting those affected by ovarian cancer remains at the heart of everything we do. The values and vision of the Diane Oxberry Trust align so closely with our own, and we're excited about the possibilities ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the tournament, engaged with our posts, shared our message and helped keep these vital conversations going.

The football tournament Blue Ribbon Photos may be nearly behind us, but the awareness journey is only just beginning. 💙

As Armed Forces Week approaches, Patricia was honoured to be invited and join Veterans HQ Liverpool and the Female Veterans Alliance on a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum.

The visit gave her the opportunity to spend time at the Royal Military Police Memorial and lay a cross in memory of Gaynor. Standing there brought back many memories, remembering when the memorial stood in Chichester (before moving to Southwick) and how many times Gaynor, Patricia and so many others would have marched past it during their time there.

It was also a time for reflection on another dear friend, Paula, another RMP veteran who sadly passed away from ovarian cancer just three months after Gaynor. Their loss continues to be felt deeply, but their memories live on.

Today was a reminder of why Gaynor's Goal is so important. Through raising awareness of ovarian cancer and supporting those affected by it, we continue to honour Gaynor's legacy and help ensure that more women receive the knowledge and support they need.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. The most common are:
• Persistent bloating
• Feeling full quickly or loss of appetite
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Needing to urinate more urgently or more frequently

Other symptoms can include changes in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss, extreme fatigue, or back pain. If symptoms are new, persistent, and occur frequently, please speak to your GP.

For Gaynor. For Paula. For every woman and family affected by ovarian cancer.

Gone, but never forgotten. 💙

As we head into the weekend and all the excitement builds for the 2026 World Cup kicking off on 11 June... well, if we're honest, the real football excitement in this camp has already happened! ⚽😊

A huge thank you to all the fantastic female players who took part in Gaynor's Goal Football Tournament on Saturday 18 April 2026. I know the photos are still coming in, but the amazing Blue Ribbon Photos was kind enough to take so many... and they are too good not to share.

So, apart from the odd bit of leg cramp here and there, there was no diving, no play-acting, no dramatic rolling around the pitch, just genuine passion, determination, teamwork and fun.

Every single woman who took part should be incredibly proud. Not only did you put on a wonderful display of football, but you also became role models for the next generation. Watching from the sidelines were Gaynor's granddaughters, aged just 2 and 4 at the time.

One of Gaynor's greatest wishes was to see more girls involved in football. Towards the end, she spoke sadly of never getting the chance to see that happen with her own granddaughters. But on that special day, we truly believe she did.

Through your enthusiasm, commitment and love of the game, you helped make her wish come true.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for inspiring young girls, for leading by example, and for showing what football is really all about.

Gaynor would have been proud. ❤️⚽

For those who have signed up for the Gaynor's Goal Baton Relay could you please check your emails, you will have received an update last night, those who have not got an email in your inbox, could you DM us please?

🎉🏃‍♀️ Amazing news! 🏃‍♀️🎉

Our wonderful friend Clare has secured her place in the Cardiff Half Marathon this October and will be running to support Target Ovarian Cancer. 💙

Clare previously worked alongside Patricia in the Civil Service as part of the same Project Team. Over the years, that team became so much more than work colleagues, they became trusted friends. From drinks on rooftop bars and Italian meals together, to countless evenings out, they created friendships that have stood the test of time.

Although Gaynor worked in a different Civil Service department, Clare and the team always welcomed her along as if she were one of their own. Whatever the social gatherings was, Gaynor was never treated as an outsider, she was made to feel like part of the team.

When Gaynor was poorly, Clare and the team were there for Patricia, offering friendship, support and kindness every step of the way. That support has never been forgotten.

We are incredibly grateful that Clare is now helping to raise awareness of ovarian cancer through this fantastic challenge. Not only is she taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon, but she has also signed up for the Gaynors Relay Baton Challenge, so who knows where her journey with that will take her along the way! 🚩

Thank you, Clare, for being such a wonderful friend and a loyal supporter of Gaynor's Goal. Gaynor would be so proud of everything you are doing. ❤️

If you are able to support Clare and this incredible cause, please consider making a donation via her JustGiving page.
