Association of Botanical Artists - ABA Botanical art for everyone, everywhere, every ability 🎨 Virtual shows | Blog | Webinars | Excursions | Join our online global community. Est.2017

ABA’s aim is to encourage people, regardless of their ability or location to learn, develop and share their enjoyment of botanical art at every level. We promote native flora and provide online resources to help people find, and appreciate, some of the UK’s best botanical art and artists. Our online exhibitions will also help members showcase their own art by exhibiting in ABA’s unique virtual gallery. We are passionate about supporting artists at a local level.

Submissions are now open for our May exhibition for 2026!

“ UNUSUAL “

Think of something unusual for your submission, it could be in the way you have composed your subject, how the light shows, an aspect of the plant’s colour, or even the actual subject itself.

Have a look through your portfolio, or feel inspired and get the brushes out, and choose something that’s going to make people think ‘that’s unusual!’ .

Make sure you read and understand the criteria before you submit your work.

Remember this is a botanical art association so attention to detail and correct anatomical accuracy is at the core of your work.

Complete your submission details using the button in your member email and upload your artwork. Submission times and exhibition opening dates are shown below.

We are really looking forward to seeing your work and thank you for supporting your ABA.

Christmas Rose Helleborus niger , Watercolour by Annie Morris

On behalf of the ABA Team we wish all our Members and Followers peace and happiness over the holiday season and for the coming year. We have loved your company in 2025 and look forward to more of your participation in our exhibitions, engagement with our social media, and seeing you at the Botanical Chat.

There have been some changes in the team here at ABA as some of our volunteers retire and new ones take their place. We also have some interesting new ideas planned, all of which we will let you know about in 2026.

Please note the office is now closed until 5th January 2026.

Warmest wishes,

Maria Ioannou
ABA President
