Scientists are saying we are locked in now for 3 degrees of warming since pre industrial times.

We are already up to 2.1°c.

Doesn't sound too bad, until you realise the difference between now and the last ice age 5000 years ago is a measly 4°c.

And we've orchestrated these changes in 100 years.

Dr Will Steffen from the Australian National University discusses 'Climate Change: The Magnitude of the Challenge' at Festival of Ambitious Ideas, May 2016.

The impacts of man made climate change are being overwhelming felt in many parts of the world. This is absolutely heart breaking to watch.

Records are being broken, temperatures are climbing and meanwhile oil is still being burnt for profit.

Make sure your government represents your values. If you think this is an emergency, ensure they are acting accordingly. Put pressure on them to support Bills that advocate for nature and net zero, ask them to raise a question or debate in Parliament, meet with them to find out what they are doing for the climate and nature crisis.

Look at what your local council is doing and get involved.

The time is now, or quite possibly, many years ago.

Calling all people of Warrington South📣

We need you to get in touch with your MP, Sarah Hall, asking her to back the Climate and Nature Bill.

As a constituent, this is really one of the best ways you can exercise your power.

I met with Charlotte Nichols MP during covid, and she backed the Bill shortly after. It can be done, even if you have no confidence or experience.

Ask your Warrington South MP to back the CAN Bill.

Are you aged between 16 and 20 years old and passionate about improving our town?

Needing something fun and meaningful to add to your CV?

Want to know more about climate change and how it will impact your future?

Involve and Warrington Borough Council are working together to help 16 young people in holding climate conversations. If successful, you will take part in 4 training sessions and share your findings. You will be reimbursed for your time and will help shape Warrington's Climate Emergency Strategy.

Please see the link below, where you can find out more and apply. If you are a parent or carer, share with your young people as you see fit. It is a great opportunity and would be an impressive talking point for any future further education or job interviews.

If you have any questions, I will gladly help in any way I can.

Aged between 16 and 20? Interested in a thriving future for Warrington? We need ‘conversation starters’ to speak to family, friends and neighbours about the future of Warrington and shape how our town prepares for climate change. What matters to you about our town? What makes it unique? What do ...

For anyone interested in our biodiversity crisis, this man is fantastic. Wondering where all the insects are? What can I do to help? Who should I vote for?

I proudly voted Green today, so it seems I too have voted with my heart.

Social media is full of people saying that there are no insects in their garden. This is my take on why gardens are currently lacking in buzz. Should we be p...

In this article, the chair of Natural England has stated that new housing and protecting green spaces should not be seen as opposites. 🫠

Many green spaces are perhaps of poor quality, and could be enhanced by tree planting, wetland creation or possibly species introduction, alongside creating nature corridors for wildlife to flow through.

But how can the chair of NE advocate building on green spaces? The UK is already one of the most nature-poor counties in the EU.

Worth a read. People in charge cannot be trusted to make the right choices for nature, even if it's in their job title.

Tony Juniper believes new homes and protection for green spaces and wildlife should not be seen as opposites

This is the culmination of my collaboration with Letters to the Earth 🥰 Hundreds of beautifully written letters being published for their school and wider community to appreciate and enjoy. This was a pilot with Devon Wildlife Trust and 4 primary schools, to be rolled out over the next year with Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

Over the course of the 2022 - 2023 academic year, thanks to the South Hams Climate Engagement Fund and in collaboration with the Devon Wildlife Trust, we tra...
