New neurodiversity affirming forest school and bushcraft groups, starting Wednesday 4 November near Talgarth.

For children who are home educated, finding school overwhelming, or learning part or full time outside of school. Whether that’s flexi-schooling, EOTAS, or anything in between — you’re welcome.

Sessions are Wednesdays during term time:

- Primary age: 10:00–11:30
- Secondary age: 12:30–2:00

It’s a low demand, drop-in feel — children can join in as much as they’re able, with whatever support they need that day, and parents are welcome to stay.

The group is led by a therapeutic Forest School Leader and a neurodivergent Speech and Language Therapist.

Every child’s goals will be individual, based on their needs and what’s important to them, but broadly we hope children get out of it:

- Being an active participant and having a sense of belonging, in a small group, on their own terms
- Feeling confident to share feelings and ideas, and to speak up for themselves
- Building resilience and taking safe risks, through the natural world and each other
- Growing acceptance, understanding, and a positive neurodivergent identity

Booking is essential so we can keep the group small and well matched, which means places will fill up quickly. Message us to find out more and join the waiting list.

It isn’t just about lighting a fire! It is about the journey over many months from a bedroom, to the car park, through the gate, up the steps, to avoidance and passive observation to taking ownership, having agency and making a much more beautiful campfire doughnut than I managed…and they were tasty too!

Many professionals say they are child led but that is still often within the adults plan of where it might go. It isn’t always easy to really go with the child but pretty cool things happen when you do!! What’s the best thing that happened when you followed a child’s lead?

Yes this!

I say this ALL the time to adults.

Because so many adults still see difference and automatically assume that it's something that needs to be corrected.

It often isn't.

I can't think of any examples to give you right now. My brain is exhausted.
