5th Ware Scout Group The 5th Ware Scout Group, the first new Scout group to open in Ware for 50 years, provides life changing experiences for young people from 6 - 60* years.

The 5th Ware Scout Group opened its doors for the first time on February 1st, 2010 in response to the ever-increasing interest in Scouting and specifically the need for more places for young people in Ware and the surround district. The District had been served well for nearly 100 years by the existing groups, but the waiting list was continuing to grow and by early 2010, the list was growing at m

ore than twice the rate that spaces were becoming available. Initially the Group contained only a Beaver colony but by January 2011, the first Beavers were old enough to progress to the next Section. A Cub pack, now known as the “Lemurs”, started and has continued to grow being fed primarily by further Beavers moving up when they reach 8 years of age. The Scout troop opened in September 2013. The very first Beavers who joined back in early 2010 and progressed up to Cubs, will now be able to continue through to the next level of Scouting.

We are back after Easter and here are the dates for the first meeting back for each section this week.
You may have noticed that we now have 2 Squirrel Dreys & 2 Beaver Colonies listed, our 2 new Sections open this week, which is very exciting for everyone.
With these new sections opening we do now have space for more young people so remember if you have siblings, family members or friends who would like to join 5th Ware you must get them on the waiting list, there is no such thing as too soon, current youngest on the list is 1yrs old!

We are very excited to announce that after Easter 5th Ware Scout Group will be expanding the 5th Ware family by opening a second Squirrel Drey and a second Beaver Colony.
There is a meeting on Monday 23rd March at 5.30pm for anyone interested in helping get these new sections off the ground, please get in touch if you'd like to be involved.

This festive season, William Ives Countryside Services are offering a Christmas tree collection and recycling service with proceeds going towards Ware & District Scouts.

We will be collecting in Ware, Hertford, Buntingford and surrounding villages. To arrange collection, please follow the link below.

Thanks to Phasels Wood Activity Centre for hosting, and to all the other scout groups who bought bases for the young people to enjoy 🙌
