5th Ware Scout Group

5th Ware Scout Group The 5th Ware Scout Group, the first new Scout group to open in Ware for 50 years, provides life changing experiences for young people from 6 - 60* years.

The 5th Ware Scout Group opened its doors for the first time on February 1st, 2010 in response to the ever-increasing interest in Scouting and specifically the need for more places for young people in Ware and the surround district. The District had been served well for nearly 100 years by the existing groups, but the waiting list was continuing to grow and by early 2010, the list was growing at more than twice the rate that spaces were becoming available. Initially the Group contained only a Beaver colony but by January 2011, the first Beavers were old enough to progress to the next Section. A Cub pack, now known as the “Lemurs”, started and has continued to grow being fed primarily by further Beavers moving up when they reach 8 years of age. The Scout troop opened in September 2013. The very first Beavers who joined back in early 2010 and progressed up to Cubs, will now be able to continue through to the next level of Scouting.

💜🧡 It’s Volunteers’ Week and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers at 5th Ware Scouts.
From planning activities and leading sessions to making tea, tidying up and supporting young people every week — our volunteers make Scouting possible.
We’re also looking for new volunteers to join our team, especially to help with our Squirrels and Beaver sections.
You don’t need previous experience, just enthusiasm and a little time. Whether you can help every week or just a few hours a month, you could make a huge difference.
✨ Make friends
✨ Learn new skills
✨ Support young people in our community
✨ Have fun along the way

Today Theo, Xander & Chris are taking part in the first intra Herts Archery competition against Scouts from Royston, Stevenage & Welwyn Garden City.
The mooring ends have gone well, field archery and a ladder competition to come this afternoon.
