A great turnout this morning for the Grenadier Guards Walsall Branch Breakfast Gathering.

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces enjoying good food, good company and plenty of banter.

📜 From the Archives – Walsall Sub-Branch, 1959 📜

We’re delighted to share a glimpse into the branches history with these snippets from the Grenadier Gazette, 1959 (The Forty-Fourth Annual Report of the First (or Grenadier) Guards Comrades Association).

The pages include reports from the Wolverhampton and District Branch and, most importantly for us, the Walsall Sub-Branch. They offer a fascinating snapshot of branch life over 65 years ago.

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗯-𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟵

Meetings: First Wednesday of every month

Headquarters: T.A. Centre, Somerfield Road, Bloxwich

The report notes that 1959 was a quiet but steady year, with the main social event being the Annual Dinner and Dance, held at the George Hotel, Walsall, and well supported by members.

It also mentions a temporary move of headquarters into the town centre in an effort to attract new members before returning to the familiar T.A. Centre in Bloxwich.

🟦🟥🟦𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓶𝓪𝓼 𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓸𝓷 2025 🎄🎅

The Walsall Branch held its annual Christmas Luncheon yesterday at The Broadway, Short Heath, Willenhall.

Members enjoyed an afternoon in excellent company, marking the festive season with good food, conversation, and the strong camaraderie that continues to define the Branch. It was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion and a fitting way to close the year together.

The Branch wishes to thank everyone who attended and to the staff at The Broadway for their warm hospitality.
