Yesterday we travelled to Leek for our penultimate game of the season.
We spoke to the girls prior to kick off about not underestimating Leek they have improved and to not to be complacent and think it would be an easy win.
It was a slow start with our girls finding it hard to find a rhythm but after the first 15 minutes we were starting to settle then a great pass from lexi to Kaycie secured our first goal, our guard slipped a little forcing us into a few errors which led to a Leek goal.
The girls regrouped quickly after this with some effective moving with the ball and a second assist from Lexi to Kaycie again secured a 2nd, this by no means meant we were comfortable as Leek were challenging us and our defence at times but we managed to stay on top and another assist from Lexi meant Evie could make the run for the 3rd of the game. Leek definitely didn't back down and were giving as good as they got but another error by them saw Evie take the opportunity to get a 4th.
Well done to the girls today a challenging game from Leek who have clearly improved from playing them earlier in the season.
This win has secured us 2nd place in the league and should mean promotion next year.
