Did you know your front door plays a vital role in fire safety? 🏠

Over the next few weeks, we'll be carrying out annual checks on flat entrance doors.

The inspection takes around five minutes and helps ensure your door can prevent fire and smoke from spreading, protecting you, your family and your neighbours.

Making the most of the sunshine? Don't forget to keep your home secure while staying comfortable indoors ☀️

🏠 Lock all doors and windows whenever you head out, even for a short trip.

🌿 Relaxing in the garden? Make sure windows and doors at the front of your home are closed.

💼 Keep valuables out of sight and away from open windows.

🪟 Close blinds or curtains during the warmest part of the day to help keep your home cool.

A working smoke alarm can give you the time you need to get out safely in the event of a fire 🚨

Make sure yours is working by testing it every two weeks:

1️⃣ Press the test button until you hear a loud beep 🔊
2️⃣ If you don't hear anything, let us know and we'll arrange for it to be checked
3️⃣ Set a reminder to test it again in two weeks ✅

It only takes a few seconds to test your alarm, but it could save lives.

We’ve seen an increase in garden fires recently.

Please follow the advice from West Midlands Fire Service and help us reduce the risk of fires in our communities.

✋ Given how hot and dry things are right now, please hold off on garden fires and BBQs.
Not to mention fire pits, chimeneas, braziers, incinerators. Anything that creates flames, heat or sparks.
It doesn't take much for embers to catch, on dry grass, leaves and the like.
And conditions like this make it far easier for a contained fire to become something much bigger, very quickly.
Honestly, if it can wait, let it.

Over 640 of you came along to enjoy fun activities, chat with our teams, and bag some great goodies.

🎯More than 350 prizes were given away
🔑 96 keyrings were decorated
📝 43 people completed the scavenger hunt
🔑 160 keys cut (saving around £800)

Could your child get free school meals this September? 🤔🍎

If you receive Universal Credit, your child could be entitled to free school meals from September 2026.

It only takes a few minutes to check, and applying could help with school costs.

From September, children in full-time education in England will qualify for free school meals (worth around £500 a yea per child) if their parents or carers get ANY amount of Universal Credit. 👇
