Neuro- Disability or Neuro- Inclusion ?

What does Inclusion Look like for Neurodivergent Individuals, who do not meet ‘𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼-𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸' 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮? What does it mean for SEND Students or people who relay on Accessibility Support!

And I mean ''simple'' Inclusion!
Like Inclusive Learning and Communication Styles!

Are you Developing Your Leadership Skills?

" Why do you think, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 ". I was talking with NHS Trust about my Leadership Development Program and reflected on a Service Improvement I made whilst still a very young manager.

Straight away, I remembered a specific moment, I made the decision to leave that company in the first place:

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘖𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢 𝘏𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘵

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩, I was responsible for at 25 years old!

𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴.

As a young manager at the time, I asked the Director to help me convince the team, to fulfil their job descriptions, and instead...

He convinced me, I was not the right person to manage that team.

Within next couple of years, the home was placed in special measures and the director asked for my help!

Why?
Because he knew!

📍I knew exactly what led them into special measures and what they needed to change.

He also knew,

⛔️ I had the courage to challenge bad practice! And
❤️ always had the best interest of people we supported at heart!

15 years later ... I still remember most of the people I supported and
the teams I managed at various stages of my own career journey...

I have learnt A LOT about Diversity, Inclusion and Strategic Leadership during that time and experienced all possible challenges to learn even more about Resilience.

𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 cannot be built by statutory services alone !
𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 to work alongside NHS and Local Authority partners. BUT those Opportunities come with a 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙠, 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙!

Whilst Local Authorities, NHS and Social Care Providers are Regulated by Care Quality Commission- there are currently 𝗡𝗢 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 for VCSE Organisations funded by Public Sector to be CQC Registered.

That creates a potential gap in Quality, Governance, Safeguarding, Evidence and shared Expectations, and Potentially puts the public using those services at Risk!

This is why we developed our 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗤𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗖𝗦𝗘 organisations.

The training helps Unregulated Providers working with Public Sector understand CQC expectations and, importantly, explore how the principles of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led can be embedded into everyday operations — even where CQC registration is not required.

𝗧𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀.

Social Care Providers are Mislead to Believe paying £7,000 for a Tender Writer will help them Win the Contract. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆. And I am Wondering Which Providers are Ready for Neighbourhood Strategy?
