On Tuesday we had our groups AGM and had a big fundraising night. We gave out so many badges and 6 top awards along with 1 certificate for one of our squirrels who has achieved all of their badges. A massive thank you to everyone who came and we hope everyone has a good summer and will see you in September.

Tonight as it was the end of term 3 of our sections played in the foam from the foam machine we borrowed from the church. Thank you to St Pauls, Willington Quay for letting us use it and thanks to Corrie and Sean for fixing it for us. Our squirrels, beavers and cubs had loads of fun in it and so did our young leaders.

Community impact project. Before Easter our cubs and scouts cleared out an old boat in the church grounds full.of weeds. After Easter our beavers painted the boat and then our squirrels planted some lovely flowers as part of their let it grow badge. Our whole group earned community impact badges and we hope to look after it for years to come. If you are in the area of St Pauls, Willington Quay have a look at the side of the church at our work. We hope brightens up.the area for the local community

This weekend 20 of our young people went to district camp and 4 squirrels came for the day on Saturday. Their weekend was full of fun and different activities we even had a big campfire on Saturday night.

Tonight the scouts got the opportunity to go air riffle shooting at 8th Wallsend. We started by having a safety talk about how to safely use the riffles and about how they can be dangerous if not used properly. Each of the scouts then had 3 turns at shooting the riffles. Each turn the scouts improved and got a better score.

A big thank you to Norman and the other leaders from 8th that allowed us to do this.

We are looking for people to join our committee. Please if you or anyone you know would like to join please get in contact.

You will need a scout dbs check and then some small online training taking no longer than 15-30 minutes.

What will the role include?
If you become a part of our committee then you will need to attend 3 meetings a year to ensure the safe running of the group.

On Tuesday our beavers took on their part of our community impact project at St Pauls, Willington Quay and started to paint the old boat. A few bits for leaders to finish and tidy up before the squirrels plant in it next week

Today some of our young people were at Asda Benton doing some fundraising collecting. Thank you to everyone who came along to help collect and everyone who donated. We made a total of £170.04!
