📢 NEW OPENING HOURS!!

From this week, our Community Store will be open:

Monday to Friday
9:30am – 2:30pm
We will no longer be opening on Saturdays.

After a lot of thought, we've decided to use weekends to clean, restock and replenish the store so we can keep it looking its best and make sure the shelves are full for everyone during the week. Saturdays have always been our quietest day, so this change makes the best use of our time while also giving our team a much needed better work/life balance.
If you've been referred to us and can't make it during our opening hours, don't worry. Referral appointments can still be arranged outside of these times by prior agreement.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you Monday to Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm! 💜

📚♻️ School Uniform Reminder! ♻️📚

Every year, we help to reuse around 12,000 items of school uniform, shoes, bags and school essentials – that's around 4 tonnes kept out of landfill 😲
As your children grow, please don't throw their uniform away!
Please donate any clean, good-quality items to us and we'll make sure they reach another local family who needs them. (This is open access all year round btw.)

💚 Save money. 🌍 Protect the environment. 👕 Give school uniform a second life.

Huge thank you to IKEA for their continued support of our store & Baby Bank. 💙💛

These amazing donations are already heading straight out to local families through our referral partners. Every item will make a real difference to a child who needs it.
As if that wasn't enough, IKEA have also donated an incredible storage system to help transform how we work behind the scenes. It's currently waiting in lots of boxes until our next corporate volunteer team comes along to help us build it all! Once it's in place, we'll be able to organise stock so much better and respond to referrals even more quickly.
Support like this changes what we're able to do for local families. We simply couldn't achieve what we do without businesses like IKEA choosing to invest in their community.

Children's books are always FREE here because we think you shouldn't put a price on story time.

Today we're celebrating one of the most important people at Tyneside Community Store & Baby Bank... our amazing Karen! 🥳💙

She truly is the heart and soul of the store. Her kindness, dedication and endless hard work keep everything ticking over, and so many families have been helped because of the care she puts into every single day.

We wouldn't be where we are without her, and everyone who knows her absolutely adores her.
