๐ Let's get this Mum and kittens found ๐
UPDATE 2 ๐จ
Today we found out that they were taken into the vets as โstraysโ by the carer. The vets have refused to disclose any information on the kitties, they failed to ask for proof of ownership after we said weโre the rightful owners and havenโt cooperated at all. The police have given us advice on the next steps and we have done as instructed.
Praying these babies are back with us soon ๐
UPDATE โ ๏ธ
The โvetsโ have called us. They have now advised that they are aware of the mum and kittens but are refusing to give us any further information, despite the fact that the animals are legally ours. They have told us โto not waste our time calling themโ. We have logged this update with the police, we have contacted the VCMS, and will continue to seek legal advice.
๐จ MISSING - MUM & KITTENS ๐จ
We are absolutely devastated to be writing this post.
This mum and her kittens were legally signed over into Mini Beasts Rescue care and placed with a foster carer. A few days ago, one of the kittens became unwell and was taken to the vets for treatment and ongoing care.
At 6:30am this morning, we received a message from the foster carer stating the kitten needed a vet. There were no further messages, calls, or attempts to contact either owner of MB after this. As soon as we saw the message, we responded immediately and arranged for the kitten to be seen at our vets at 8:45am.
The foster carer then informed us she had taken the kitten to Hampden Vet Hospital and that he had sadly passed away. She then followed with another message stating she had given mum and the remaining kittens away and is refusing to disclose where they are or who has them.
We have spent the entire day contacting local rescues and vets. At this time, nobody has any record of these animals.
These cats are legally under the ownership and care of Mini Beasts Rescue. The matter has now been reported to the police and is being treated as animal theft under The Pet Abduction Act 2024.
Right now, our priority is the welfare and safety of mum and babies. One kitten was already poorly, which means the remaining kittens and mum may also require urgent vet attention. Time matters. The longer they remain missing, the greater the potential risk to their health and welfare.
Please; if you have been handed these cats, know somebody who has them, or have seen them anywhere, contact us immediately. No judgement. We just need to know they are safe and receiving appropriate care.
Please share. These babies deserve to be found. ๐ค
