Owning a dog can bring huge benefits to our health and wellbeing. For some people living with brain injury, having a furry friend to love, care for and spend time with can make a real difference to their recovery and quality of life.

Of course, dogs are a lifelong commitment and require time, money, care and sometimes significant lifestyle adjustments — but the companionship and unconditional love they provide can be truly priceless. 🐾💙

🌻 🌸 Our garden is in full bloom! 🌿

Our garden has become a much-loved space for members to relax, socialise and enjoy a drink in the sunshine between sessions.

The improved garden space was created thanks to a grant from Wakefield Council, and it’s wonderful to see it continuing to flourish. Even better, it is maintained and cared for by our members themselves.

This year, the garden has also attracted some very special local wildlife, with a family of ducks choosing the space to hatch their ducklings! 🦆🐣

It’s fantastic to see the garden being enjoyed by our members - this year we even held a summer concert here 💚

🏊‍♀️ Denise Completes Her Incredible 50-Mile Swim! 🎉

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Denise, one of the people we support, has now completed her amazing 50-mile swim to raise money for Second Chance Headway! 💙

What an incredible achievement and a fantastic challenge to take on. We’re incredibly proud of Denise and all the determination she has shown along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Denise and helped her raise money for Second Chance Headway.
