Good news for domestic abuse survivors and their children š
The UK Government has confirmed an additional £19 million to help councils provide safe housing for survivors of domestic abuse enabling support for over 4,900 more households over the next three years.
This funding forms part of the broader Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy, reinforcing the commitment to ensure that people fleeing abuse can access refuge accommodation, security upgrades, sanctuary schemes and the support they need to rebuild their lives.
At CDASS, we know that children are victims in their own right when domestic abuse affects a household and safe, stable housing is a key part of keeping families protected and supported. š
