FOSTER WANTED

🌟Location-Burton-on - Trent

Staffordshire

🌟Name -Izzy

🌟Breed -Cockapoo

🌟Age - 6 years

🌟Neutered -no ❎

🌟Children-yes older✅

🌟Dogs- yes ✅

🌟Cats -not tested

🌟Lead walking-good ✅

🌟Recall - good ✅

🌟House trained - yes ✅

Izzy is a stunning 6 year old Cockapoo.

She does have an issue when strangers come to the door especially men.

This seems to be lack of socialisation as she is a lockdown dog.

This can definitely be managed with common sense and understanding.

Izzy is Good with other dogs, Izzy currently lives with a 10 year old blind male Patterdale and also lived with with a JRT until he passed recently. They get on well and have no issues.

They will play with toys together and love a game of tug.

On walks Izzy will bark at dogs across the road but once close will just sniff them and shows no aggression.

She was a lockdown puppy so lacks social skills but thankfully has no aggression towards other dogs and enjoys their company.

Cat friendly? Hasn’t any but as with squirrels and birds she will bark at them if she sees them in the garden from the patio doors.

Regarding children

She has never shown any issues around children and enjoys their company.

No health issues and seen a vet for boosters and check up very recently.

Any behavioural issues? She can be anxious when strangers come to the home and mainly with men. She has snapped at their legs but never bitten and only once caught the jeans of a visitor.

If they give her a treat she is soon their best friend (very food motivated).

This has only happened 4 times in her 6 year life, so is not a major issue.

Again we believe this is as a result of being a lockdown dog and is a very manageable issue. She has no reactions to seeing/meeting strangers out on walks.

Her Food is from Natural Foods direct. Eats happily next to the other resident dog, no food guarding.

Walks well on lead? Yes, normally very good.

Can be let off lead (good recall)? Good recall and loves off lead time on the beach.

How long can she be left alone without suffering separation anxiety? Up 4-5 hours with no issues at all however she has been left for longer periods but 4 hours is the minum that I recommend.

House trained? Yes

Up to date with vaccinations (annual boosters)? Yes

Izzy loves the car and is a great traveller.

Izzy is a beautiful girl who needs to be managed when strangers come to the door.

Apart from this minor problem Izzy is a lovely girl.

Registration and home check applies unless already home checked then you would need to contact Dawn Clough directly.

🌟FOREVER HOME WANTED🌟

I am looking for Rockys Happy Ever After .

He is a gorgeous very people and dog friendly boy .

Very loyal and loving an absolute joy.

He does have some resource guarding but compared to a lot of dogs it is not severe and can be managed.

He has never bitten anyone.

You just need to be aware and try not to leave things laying around for him to steal , and most importantly don’t try to take things from him .

He will eventually get bored and leave them.

DOGS NAME Rocky

BREED Cocker spaniel

S*X Male

COLOUR Black

WEIGHT 15kg

AGE/DOB 8 years

LAST FLEA/WORM TREATMENT Up to date

IS DOG CURRENTLY ON ANY MEDICATION? No

DOES THE DOG HAVE ANY KNOWN HEALTH ISSUES? No.

DOES THE DOG HAVE A BITE HISTORY OR ANY BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS? Resource guarding

DOES THE DOG PACE, CHASE SHADOWS? No

IS THE DOG PEOPLE FRIENDLY? Very much so

IS THE DOG CHILD FRIENDLY? Yes

COULD THE DOG LIVE WITH CHILDREN? No, due to the resource guarding

IS THE DOG GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS? Very good.

COULD THE DOG LIVE WITH A DOG/DOGS? Yes

IS THE DOG CAT TESTED? No.

IS THE DOG OK WITH SMALL FURRIES? Untested but good with chickens!

WHAT FOOD IS THE DOG CURRENTLY ON AND FEEDING ROUTINE? Gentle kibble and a little bit of Years

IS THE DOG RELIABLY HOUSETRAINED? Yes, but does toilet quite frequently.

IS THE DOG CRATE TRAINED? Untested.

DOES THE DOG TRAVEL OK IN THE CAR, DO YOU USE A CRATE OR SEAT BELT HARNESS? Travels well, secure in the boot or on back seat.

WHAT IT IS THE DOG LIKE ON A LEAD? Will pull if excited, but very good overall. Has a very good wait and sit to cross roads.

DOES THE DOG HAVE RECALL? Yes. We have mostly walked him on our fields and he never goes far. On walks he always comes back to call, although we haven’t tested this in a busy area yet as we’ve only had him 4 weeks.

DOES THE DOG RESPOND TO ANY COMMANDS/WHISTLE? Sit, comes to his name.

DOES THE DOG HAVE SEPARATION ANXIETY, CAN THE DOG BE LEFT IF SO HOW LONG? No, very good being left. Can bark initially but quietens straight down.

DOES THE DOG RESOURCE GUARD TOYS, BALLS OR FOOD, ETC? He will steal items from around the house and guard them, this can be sock’s, pants, slippers etc. He does not guard his food at meal times and has been very good with our other dog. He only guards from people, if my other dog goes into the same bed whilst he’s guarding something, he isn’t phased.

WHERE IS THE DOGS PREFERRED PLACE TO SLEEP? He prefers to sleep in the bed! But will sleep in the kitchen, makes no noise and settles very quickly in his own bed.

DESCRIBE THE DOGS ENERGY LEVELS AND THE AMOUNT OF EXERCISE, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STIMULATION REQUIRED Low. He would be a lovely companion for an elderly couple or someone who doesn’t want to do too much, but equally loves his walks and scent games so can step it up or down. He must go to a home who will walk him, it’s his absolute favourite thing.

DOES THE DOG HAVE ESCAPE TENDENCIES (FLIGHT RISK)? None at all, he follows you like a shadow.

IS THE DOG VOCAL/BARKS/HOWLING? No. He will bark at a post man etc.

HOW IS THE DOG WITH GROOMING, BATHING, BRUSHING? Very good.

HOW IS THE DOG AT THE VETS? Very good.

IS THE DOG REACTIVE TO ANYTHING? No.

PLEASE IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE THE DOGS BEST QUALITY’S AND WHAT YOU FEEL WOULD BE THE RIGHT HOME. Rocky is a very loyal and cuddly companion. He’s the kind of dog that isn’t in your face, doesn’t jump all over your lap and instead sits there gently. He’s always happy to see you, would follow you to the ends of the world and is polite and gentle (though he will jump up to say hello at first!)

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S IDEAL HOME, WHAT KIND OF FAMILY WOULD HE SUIT, AND WHERE WOULD HE BE HAPPIEST. Rocky’s ideal home would be adult only, able to limit what is left around to minimise the guarding. He loves going for a walk, so someone who could take him for walks each day would be great. He can be left by himself and we feel would easily fit into many different homes. Although he’s good being left, he does love being with you, and would appreciate not being left too much.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER DOG THAT HASN'T BEEN COVERED ABOVE? Rocky has got himself a fan club at our local pub, who are all invested in trying to find Rocky a home! He’s an excellent pub dog, who settles easily and is friendly to everyone he meets.

Rocky is a lovely quiet companion, who would follow you anywhere. We think he offers a relatively easy rescue dog, but his adopters need to be ready to work with him on his guarding and not be too put off when he growls if you get too close.

He has never bitten, or even tried to, but we have never tried to take anything off of him.

He needs someone willing to spend a little bit of time on this. But this aside, he’s a great little dog, that is very easy to have out and about, great to walk, great with other dogs and very easy around the house.

Dogs can be left together or with another dog for a few hours..they have not been left without each other or another dog ..the male has become quite bonded to his foster mum and likes to keep her in sight however he knows the going out routine and will settle until she returns with the companionship of another dog .

DOES THE DOG RESOURCE GUARD TOYS, BALLS OR FOOD, ETC? The female can guard her toys with other dogs but happily gives them up to a human.

The male no issues

WHERE IS THE DOGS PREFERRED PLACE TO SLEEP? They sleep together in a large crate overnight , then in the morning up on the bed for cuddles

The male is just learning the fun of a ball.

The female is only interested in soft toys..she loves her teddys

DOES THE DOG HAVE ESCAPE TENDENCIES (FLIGHT RISK)? Not now .in the beginning the little boy had to be supervised due to fear.. once he trusts you he will have no desire to bolt.

Honestly its going to be so hard to say good bye

I cant fault them .

The male is more quiet , gentle and just wants to be close to you.

The female is more confident and she loves to launch herself into your lap for cuddles

In the beginning the dogs were more nervous of men but slowly this has improved.

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S IDEAL HOME, WHAT KIND OF FAMILY WOULD HE SUIT, AND WHERE WOULD HE BE HAPPIEST. Ideally together, although their personalities are quite different so a home where this is recognised and their individual needs met .

Their preference is females, maybe a mother /daughter duo, or a mature /retired couple with visiting grandchildren, someone who works from home ,they are very well behaved and as long as they are with you could happily lay by your feet all day long..that said they are truly embracing life

and new experiences ..out for a coffee,a pub lunch ,a hike

,the beach ,overnight in a camper van, these spaniels have taken everything in their stride and it has been a joy to watch.

They love their home ,a consistant routine, calm safe environment with an enclosed garden for them to have lots of sniffy times. A home where they are very much part of the family ,allowed on the sofa and morning cuddles/ kisses on the your bed .

They get along fine with other dogs in the home

but I Would truly love for these beautiful soles to be the centre of someone's world...they deserve nothing but the best .

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER DOG THAT HASN'T BEEN COVERED ABOVE? These two are remarkable ..small in size ,not high energy and quite calm ,so no they are not your typical spaniels..that said they are glue dogs and will built an unbreakable bond with their person.

They came to me as scared outside dogs not lived inside a home...we started from the beginning and the transformation has been a joy to watch..they have adapted into the most perfect house dogs..they just love life and their people.

As their foster mum I can honestly say whoever has these beautiful dogs are going to be blessed.

It is time for them to find their amazing forever home but these two have firmly imprinted their pawprint on my heart ❤️

FOSTER LOCATION Leeds Ls28
( meet and greet applies)

DETAILS OF HOW MANY ADULTS/CHILDREN/OTHER PETS IN THE HOME 2 children aged 5 and 1. No other pets.

HOW LONG HAS THE DOG BEEN IN YOUR CARE? 4 weeks

DOGS NAME Albert

BREED Spaniel Cross

Black with the cutest white nose and chest

WEIGHT Approx 7.2kg

AGE/DOB 08/09/2025

NEUTERED? No

VACCINATION STATUS Vaccinations are up to date

MEDICATION? No

DOES THE DOG HAVE ANY KNOWN HEALTH ISSUES? No

DOES THE DOG HAVE A BITE HISTORY OR ANY BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS? No, he is still puppy mouthing though due to teething.

DOES THE DOG PACE, CHASE SHADOWS? No

IS THE DOG PEOPLE FRIENDLY? Yes, he's very excited to meet new people and will jump to greet them, but soon settles down and loves a belly rub.

IS THE DOG CHILD FRIENDLY? Yes, he loves playtime!

COULD THE DOG LIVE WITH CHILDREN? Yes, we have a 5 and 1 year old, but due to him being such a bouncy pup, I would say children over approx age 7 would be best. He can jump very high.

IS THE DOG GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS? He's only been allowed outside for about 3 weeks (following last vaccination) so he's still getting used to seeing other dogs. He does start jumping when he sees a dog but if he's allowed to say hello then all he wants to do is play! He can be quite vocal but soon calms down. He can also be easily distracted with treats.

COULD THE DOG LIVE WITH A DOG/DOGS? I'd say no at this point, just due to not being around dogs much, but maybe with careful introductions.

IS THE DOG CAT TESTED? No, but I'd say no to cats.

IS THE DOG OK WITH SMALL FURRIES? Unknown, I'd say no.

WHAT FOOD IS THE DOG CURRENTLY ON AND FEEDING ROUTINE? Albert is on a tailored plan through Tails and is fed 3 times a day. He is on dry food only and can get an upset tummy when given 'meaty chunks' type food, so new owner would have to be committed to continuing with Tails.

IS THE DOG RELIABLY HOUSETRAINED? Yes, he sits by the door when he wants to go out, but we have to go in the garden with him as he doesn't want to miss any fun that might be happening without him!

IS THE DOG CRATE TRAINED? He has a crate, which he takes himself in sometimes, but we haven't crate trained him yet.

DOES THE DOG TRAVEL OK IN THE CAR, DO YOU USE A CRATE OR SEAT BELT HARNESS? He travels really well in the car, after some initial excitement, and we use a seat belt harness.

WHAT IT IS THE DOG LIKE ON A LEAD? He's only been lead walking for 3 weeks but he's doing really well with it. He does need more training and can pull/refuse to walk sometimes. He is quite strong so a confident owner is a must.

DOES THE DOG HAVE RECALL? We are working on it. He can sit and wait and does come when called in a controlled environment, but he needs a lot more training before being allowed off lead.

DOES THE DOG RESPOND TO ANY COMMANDS/WHISTLE? He can sit, wait, give paw, come.

DOES THE DOG HAVE SEPARATION ANXIETY, CAN THE DOG BE LEFT IF SO HOW LONG? Albert used to bark and howl all night but now he will happily take his bedtime biscuit and settle down for the night. He may revert to barking at night in a new home until he settles. After some initial barking when we leave him, he will then take himself off for a snooze until we return, normally only for a couple of hours. He is used to someone being at home all day so would benefit from this in his new home.

DOES THE DOG RESOURCE GUARD TOYS, BALLS OR FOOD, ETC? No

WHERE IS THE DOGS PREFERRED PLACE TO SLEEP? Albert sleeps on a sofa downstairs on a night. He does have a bed, which I'm sure he would sleep on if needed, but he likes to be comfy!

DESCRIBE THE DOGS ENERGY LEVELS AND THE AMOUNT OF EXERCISE, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STIMULATION REQUIRED Albert is only a young pup, so he is very bouncy and full of energy. He goes on 2 walks a day at present and has a large garden to run around in. As he grows, his exercise needs will increase, so an active home will be ideal. We have been taking him to puppy classes and some sort of ongoing training, maybe agility, would be beneficial to keep him stimulated.

DOES THE DOG HAVE ESCAPE TENDENCIES (FLIGHT RISK)? Yes, he needs to be secured before the front door is opened.

IS THE DOG VOCAL/BARKS/HOWLING? He is vocal, but it's not excessive.

HOW IS THE DOG WITH GROOMING, BATHING, BRUSHING? He's had a couple of showers and tolerates it. He's not been to the groomers.

HOW IS THE DOG AT THE VETS? Unknown as we haven't taken him yet.

IS THE DOG REACTIVE TO ANYTHING? He will jump up and can bark when out and he sees a dog or person, but he can easily be distracted with a treat. Ongoing training is needed.

PLEASE IN YOUR OWN WORDS DESCRIBE THE DOGS BEST QUALITY’S AND WHAT YOU FEEL WOULD BE THE RIGHT HOME. Albert is a gorgeous, loving dog. He's only a pup so is very bouncy and full of fun, but then on an evening when he's worn himself out, he will happily snuggle between us on the sofa and fall asleep, sometimes even snoring!

DESCRIBE THE DOG'S IDEAL HOME, WHAT KIND OF FAMILY WOULD HE SUIT, AND WHERE WOULD HE BE HAPPIEST. Albert's ideal home would be with an active family, with either older children or no children, due to him being strong and bouncy. He would thrive with ongoing training, maybe agility work, to prevent boredom.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER DOG THAT HASN'T BEEN COVERED ABOVE? Albert is a lovely pup, he's shown no signs of aggression at all and he just wants to play! He has been going to puppy training classes and he's doing really well. Due to just having his last vaccination when we took him in, he's not had much socialisation yet, so is still super excited when out walking, he loves nothing more than a good sniff. We are really sad about having to rehome him, but he's just a bit too bouncy for our young children as he's quite a big puppy already.

UPDATE - FOSTER ARRANGED

FOSTER WANTED🌟
LOCATION- Wooler NE71
This gorgeous bundle of puppiness is Duke 💙
He was born in May this year .
He didn’t have the best start in life and came to SpanielAssist at approximately 7 weeks old .
When he was taken to the vet for vaccinations, microchip and health check the vet picked up on his back legs.
They are splayed and he could possibly need surgery later on once he has developed and matured.
He needs to grow basically then he can be checked over again.
He was very malnourished and skinny on arrival and had obviously had a poor diet and basic care .
I am looking for a dog free or one dog foster home where you will have the time to care for Duke until he is older ( this will be a few months )
Don’t get me wrong he loves to play and run around but you can see that there is something not right about his back legs.
He is adorable and loves a cuddle 🥰
Please contact Dawn Clough if you feel that you are the right foster home for Duke .
I can arrange transport for the right home.

FOREVER HOME WANTED
We are looking for a very special home for Bella , a home who will understand her needs and continue to work on her reactivity.
Bella is more to be pitied than blamed as her life before she came to Spaniel Assist was horrendous.
Bella spent 5 years on a chain outside in all weathers forced to breed and produce litter after litter.
She has suffered trauma, abuse and cruelty which is the reason why she is understandably reactive in some situations.
She really does deserve to be happy and to know what it is like to be loved and wanted.
No cats
No small Furries
No dogs
No young children
A calm home with not too many comings and goings where Bella can decompress, adapt , relax and learn to trust.
She has made good progress in her foster home , Bella is intelligent and wants to learn and please
