BESS update: the inspector has let us know he will issue a decision on the BESS plans here in early July.
Fingers crossed he makes the right decision for everyone who has ever loved Heath common

Tomorrow we go to the polls to choose our local councillors. These are local elections. Nothing to do with national politics.

These three local councillors have backed this campaign to stop the Battery Energy Storage plant from being built here on this historic green field site since we first launched it back in 2022.

That's four years. Four long years.

They've represented our views in council time and time again.
They have spoken out publicly against it
They have stood beside us as we have campaigned.
They have stood beside us on the Town Hall steps as we have protested.
They could not have done more.

‘The appellant (Harmony Energy) )has failed on Green Belt, failed on heritage and failed on landscape.
It treated a 2021 grid connection offer as planning permission ….and failed to consider alternative sites.
Each failure is serious in its own right.
Taken together, they are fatal’

This was our barrister’s closing statement on the final day of the Public Inquiry.

We do not want to see a Battery Energy Storage plant built here on this very special green belt heritage landscape of HeathCommon

This is why we are here.

Let’s hope the inspector agrees.
