This Thursday 8 October: Annie Kean, a good friend of the French Club, will talk about Le Lot, a beautiful region in south western France. It's always good to hear Annie, and it will be great to see Club members after the summer break. Join us in St Giles Church Halls, Ickenham, at 7.30pm.

We couldn't have had a better start to the season than Thursday's meeting, when Rod Davis told us about skiffle music and his time in The Quarrymen - during John Lennon's time and afterwards. From the photos you'll instantly recognise the young Lennon and McCartney. On Lennon's school report he had scored 17% in Maths and was "certainly on the road to failure"!
Not only did Rod speak to us in Spanish, he also played the guitar and sang some of The Quarrymen's repertoire. Enormous thanks to him, and great to see so many members back after the summer break.

Our first meeting of the new season! Hillingdon Spanish Club will hear Rod Davis talking about his experience of skiffle music, including his time playing in John Lennon's group 'The Quarrymen'!

That's the final picnic of the year wrapped up! This time the Spanish Club ate indoors, enjoying the usual great mix of wonderful food - (the photos show the table AFTER everyone took their first helping!) - the best company and a few laughs along the way. Take a close look at the cakes in the final picture - their topping is the colours of the Spanish flag and they have a little paper flag in the middle for good measure! Thank you EVERYONE for joining us. See you in October for the start of the new season!
