We often think spirituality is about peace when life is going well. But the Gurus showed us something far deeper - bliss that remains untouched, even in unimaginable pain. If Guru Arjan Dev Ji could sit in complete calm while his body was burning, what does that say about the true nature of the self? And what does it say about the stories we tell ourselves about our struggles?

Today, as we remember the Shaheedi of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, we remember more than a historical event.

We remember a life that embodied profound peace, unwavering acceptance and complete connection with the Divine even in the face of unimaginable suffering.

The deeper wisdom is not simply to admire Guru Arjan Dev Ji, but to reflect on what he was teaching us through his example.

If peace can remain untouched by circumstances, then perhaps our true nature is deeper than the struggles, fears and stories that occupy our minds.

Today, may we remember not only his sacrifice, but also the wisdom he lived.

Are we in control, or is God?

Perhaps the answer is not one or the other. The illusion is believing they are separate.

When we recognise the oneness that runs through all of life, the divide between "my will" and "God's will" begins to dissolve. What remains is a deeper understanding that we are not apart from the whole, we are expressions of it.

The deeper wisdom reminds us that nothing in life truly belongs to us. Every person who enters our life is a gift, not a possession.

Suffering grows when we believe things were meant to stay forever. Peace begins when we recognise that everything in life comes and goes in its own time.

If you look closely, almost everything we do is driven by the same goal - happiness.

We chase success, relationships, possessions, experiences and achievements because we believe they will make us happy.

The question is not whether we want happiness but whether we're looking for it in the right place.

What if the peace and fulfilment we're searching for isn't something to be gained, but something to be uncovered within ourselves?

Peace isn't found in constantly swinging between excitement and despair. It's found in steadiness. In balance. In a mind that is no longer pulled in every direction by changing circumstances.

Seek peace and you'll discover that true freedom isn't in the highs, it's in the stillness that remains through it all.

Even angels, if they exist, are on a journey toward the Divine. True spirituality is not about hierarchy, but about seeking the One who is beyond all.

The journey to understanding God begins with understanding yourself.

We spend so much time looking outward for answers, yet the deepest wisdom invites us inward.

The more clearly we see our own mind, our fears, our ego and our true nature, the more clearly we begin to understand the Divine.

To know yourself is not separate from knowing God. It is the beginning of it.

We didn't choose our height, our skin colour, how our body grows or countless other things that shape our lives.

Yet when we're told that our control is more limited than we think, something within us resists. Why?

Because the ego wants to believe it's in charge. The discomfort we feel isn't the truth being challenged, it's the ego defending the image it has created of itself.

Like children playing a game, we take life so seriously. The spiritual masters see life how we seeing children playing a game. While we become consumed by every success, failure and setback, they see it all with the bigger picture in mind.
