Reflections, connections, and ripples! 🌿

Our newest blog post is live! Our Co-Director Dr Jess Pitt takes a look back at Ripple Symposium - a day full of rich provocations and conversations - and shares the culmination of the important contributions of our delegates on the day.

These five ‘tracings’ are Jess’ response to the knowledge, wisdom and understanding she encountered.

Take a look and let us know your thoughts!

✨ CALL FOR ARTISTS: Confluence Artist Residency with Magic Acorns ✨

We’re inviting two mid-career multidisciplinary artists to join us in Great Yarmouth (March–May 2027) for a unique residency to grow their creative research practice within an early years context.

No prior experience working with babies and young children is needed. We're interested in what you already bring as an artist, and how your skills, ideas and creative approaches might open up new possibilities for this work. Through training, mentoring and shared learning, we'll support you to develop your creative practice in early years contexts.

What we’re offering:
- £4,050 total bursary package
- Up to 10 days studio time to develop your artistic practice
- 4 days of professional development workshops
- Mentorship from our directors
- Sharing & final exhibition/performance opportunities
- Professional video documentation of the residency process

How it works:
Stage 1: Complete the Expression of Interest form by 25 October 2026 at 23:59pm.
Stage 2: Twelve shortlisted artists receive a £200 fee to develop a full proposal with support from our directors.

Time for a Play Day!

Next week, we’re embarking on the first of our national Roadshow of Taster Days as part of our SUSTAIN project, funded by Arts Council England.

We’re hoping to gather broader perspectives about early years arts training needs and share our approach to Creative Professional Development (CPD) with artists, educators, and arts organisations across the country. Over the next nine months we’re inviting six partners to step into the world of early years arts through a lens of creativity and collaboration and to strengthen connections across the sector.

Our wonderful Roadshow partners are:

East Coast College, Great Yarmouth
St Nics School, Great Yarmouth
Groundswell Arts, London
Suffolk Artlink, Halesworth
The Spark Arts for Children, Leicester
Tate St Ives, Cornwall

Our Play Days offer a unique opportunity for your staff, practitioners or delivery team to explore and strengthen their creative practice with us. We work with a range of settings, from education and health, to arts, culture and community.

✍️Email or DM us if you’re interested in arranging bespoke training or Play Days for yourself or your team: https://www.magicacorns.co.uk/training/bespoke-training-for-your-workplace/
