We are incredibly grateful to The Summerfield Charitable Trust for their pledge of £2million for The Big Space Cancer Appeal

This extraordinary act of generosity brings us closer to transforming cancer care for our community through a new cancer centre built around the people who need it most. A space where patients can feel supported, comfortable and cared for every step of the way.

The Summerfield Trust have created a video to show how their support will make a difference to patients, families and loved ones across Gloucestershire, as well as the staff who care for them.

In 2025 The Summerfield Charitable Trust gave The Big Space Cancer Appeal a grant of £2 million. 🎉🎨 Thanks to your donations, the Changing Places facilities at Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals have been completely transformed! 🎨🎉

Designed to inspire and captivate, the artwork has turned blank walls into uplifting scenes. Inclusion and sensory engagement are key to our users and this wonderful design delivers brilliantly on both.

The artwork was developed through a collaborative process, with the artist engaging, consulting and being guided by families who regularly visit the hospital and use these facilities. Their insights and lived experience helped shape the artwork’s themes, imagery and focus - ensuring it responds meaningfully to the needs of those who use the space most.

🎉 We are excited to announce that one of Cheltenham's most prominent social clubs, The New Club Cheltenham, will be supporting The Big Space Cancer Appeal as part of a three-year charity partnership 🎉

Last month guests, friends and supporters gathered to hear from keynote speaker - Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Dr Sam Guglani - on how the Club’s support will help transform cancer care in the community. The event raised over £1,500 as a fantastic start to the partnership.

“As a Club, we have thought carefully about our role in the community, and our responsibility within it. We wanted to partner with a charity that truly resonates with our members and Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity does exactly that.
