St Columb Ringers News and information about the bells and ringers of St Columb Major Parish Church, Cornwall.

We ring St Columb Major's fine peal of eight bells (tenor 12 ½ cwt in the key of F) for services, practice nights, weddings and other local and national events. We generally ring call-changes (in the Westcountry style with closed leads) but also occasionally the odd bit of method ringing. For ringing times and information about the bells please see our website at http://stcolumb.org.uk/bellringers/

Another good result in the evening league last night, with a win for our "1st" team at St Dennis; thanks to the host tower for their hospitality and particularly the great selection of cakes! Here's a video of our peal...

This week our captain Phil Tremain marked the 60th anniversary of his first ringing lesson, so tonight we stopped halfway through practice for some cake and prosecco, and for TDGR* president Owen Borlase, who had joined us for the evening, to present Phil with a long service certificate.

*The Truro Diocesan Guild of Ringers is the association for ringers throughout Cornwall. Phil is a past president of the guild.
