Soon we'll be introducing 'bird of the week' - so let's start with Odin 👋

Odin was referred onto us after a year with his or her Caregiver. They have an old injury healed on the wing which meant a long term rehabilitation process.

Odin had access to an aviary and free flight in their original home: however was gravitating towards people.

We hope to help Odin become less trusting of humans.

For now he or she is enjoying company with Crowvid but yet to show must interest in their own kind.

Latest arrival Charlie: we are still really busy and need your support 🙏

Charlie arrived from Newent after struggling as a relatively new fledgling.

His feathers are very tattered and he or she has stunted growth and underweight.

They've now joined our smaller aviary after quarantine.

We still have more vet visits, a growing number of beaks to feed, travel costs and constant updates of our aviaries. We are going to do a £1 friday first month fundraiser but for now here's our links:

It costs on average £1000 a month to run our rescue on a busy month. We work full-time jobs to help fund, but really appreciate your support.

REMINDER: kindness costs nothing

And we all play a part in protecting our feathered friends and the wild world.

From the magnificent magpie to the beautiful butterfly, they all have a role.

Here at RR we promote kindness and respect. We open up honest conversations and ask you to take a moment to understand birds more.

Crowley update: I'm aware this isn't the best photo but they are perching!

They are also now trying to bite me. A good sign.

They'll be moved next week to the smaller transitional aviary to build muscle and strength 💪

Sadly Mr Rook is not doing so well 😞 we can't let any bird suffer so a follow up vets monday to see the next steps 💖

REMINDER: we'll never stop standing up and advocating for our pigeon friends

Here at RR our main mission is rescue, rehabilitation and release. However just as important is the advocacy work we do: outreach and education.

Many birds are seen as the 'underdogs' especially pigeons. Whilst we don't have capacity to rescue and release pigeons we have a sanctuary for our non-releasable flock.

Beautiful pigeons like Lizzie, who deserved a second chance 💖

Our advocacy posts reach far, thousands, we won't stop. Some individuals don't seem to like our pigeon posts. But for the few select negative comments, we have hundreds of comments celebrating the lives of our pigeon friends.

Latest arrival Crowley: sadly not in a great way 😥

This is the reality of rescue, this is the time of year where we get vulnerable older or younger birds in.

Crowley is a big bird, but we think some serious trauma. Being given medical attention, we need a miracle 🙏

34 birds released and thriving. Many still visiting.

It's an absolute joy and as the busiest years one of the most successful.

As always we are transparent about mortality rates and will keep you posted about all the statistics this year.

Let's just say we've populated site 2 with many magpies!
