We are delighted to welcome Helen’s Garden at Llandegla to our programme for the first time this coming Sunday. This charming one acre has been transformed from a hogweed-filled field to a garden full of year-round interest and character with many herbaceous perennials and shrubs.
Wander through the soft-fruit cage and vegetable plot, past a small orchard of apple, pear and plum trees, and into the rose garden bordered by vibrant blooms. Explore the wildflower area before pausing to take in the stunning views of Horseshoe Pass. Keep an eye out too for soaring buzzards and red kites!
Open Sunday 21 June (also Sunday 26 July) from 11am until 4.30. Admission £5.

Two and a half acres of gorgeous grounds surrounding Scott House in Ruthin will be open in support of the National Garden Scheme on both Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend. The fine 1930s arts and crafts house was the former nurses’ home to Ruthin Castle Hospital and has breathtaking open views over the Vale of Clwyd. For tree lovers, there is a beautiful avenue of limes, while a magnificent Cedar of Lebanon stands sentinel over a newly planted arboretum. Long herbaceous borders display seasonal summer planting and a highly scented rose garden offers an assault on the senses. Vegetable gardeners - don’t miss the newly constructed vegetable plot.

A massive thank you to our volunteers here in North East Wales this Volunteers Week. Our small team is part of a national cohort of over 600 helping us raise millions for nursing and healthcare charities nationwide. But special thanks too to our wonderful garden owners who work tirelessly throughout the year to open their gardens for us. We couldn’t do it without you!
