A picture tells a thousand words. This cartoon says it all.

Uber telling drivers to sit and wait while they're being replaced by autonomous vehicles. Stay put. Be patient. Trust us. Meanwhile, the technology designed to replace you is already on the road.

The DRA has always warned drivers: loyalty is not a two-way street with these platforms. They will take your labour, your data, and your time, then discard you the moment they find a cheaper option.

Watch. Learn. And organise.

PHTM - Private Hire & Taxi Monthly shows an autonomous vehicle hitting not one, but two vehicles on the road. No human error. No distraction. Just a machine making the wrong call.

A professional driver would have seen the danger and reacted. The algorithm kept going.

The DRA has always said technology should support drivers, not replace them. Every crash proves why human judgment is irreplaceable.

A Waymo driverless taxi just drove straight into an active crime scene.

Police had cordoned off the area. Flashing lights. Clear signals to stop. The autonomous vehicle ignored them all and kept going.

This isn't a glitch. It's a fundamental failure of judgment. A human driver would have seen the tape, assessed the situation, and stopped. The machine had no idea.

The DRA has always said technology should support drivers, not replace them. Every incident like this proves why human judgment is irreplaceable.

Ariana Jasmine speaks on a disturbing incident: an Uber driver pepper sprayed by his passenger simply because, in her words, he was brown.

This is a driver targeted for his identity while simply doing his job.

No driver should fear assault for how they look or what they believe. The DRA condemns this attack and every act of hatred against drivers.

Our Birmingham driver brothers recently invited us to join them for Iftar.

A moment of community, connection, and shared purpose. Breaking bread together reminds us why we fight: for dignity, for fairness, and for each other.

Last week, we were honoured to joined our brothers in Birmingham for their Iftar event. Unity on the road. Unity at the table.

Ramadan reminds us of the values that strengthen our movement: patience, sacrifice, and community. Breaking bread together, sharing stories, and standing shoulder to shoulder.

These moments matter. They remind we fight for each other.

cycling Mikey has captured yet more drivers using a mobile device behind the wheel.

Any hand-held use is illegal. It carries 6 penalty points and puts your entire livelihood at risk.

Transport Minister Lilian Greenwood has responded to concerns about driver safety, pointing to CCTV and existing licensing powers.

In a parliamentary answer, she said abuse against transport workers is "unacceptable." Licensing authorities must consider crime reduction when exercising their duties, and statutory guidance recommends they consult on mandating CCTV in vehicles.

Health and safety law also applies. Operators must carry out risk assessments covering lone working, reporting systems, and vehicle safety equipment.

The tools exist. The responsibility falls on local authorities and operators to use them.
