Hello everybody,
As most of you know we are unable to continue with Marsham Show this year.
We do have several things to complete, firstly we have to harvest our field of wheat. This is planned for the weekend of August 13th and 14th. This is weather dependant. There is no charge for this event. Feel free to drop in for a visit and chat and a cup of tea etc .If you wish to bring a tractor, engine or classic car to display, just turn up and you will be made welcome, and if you feel like making a donation to show charity funds that will be good.
Following two very successful shows in 2019 and 2021 we find ourselves sitting on a pile of money. Having already donated nine thousand pounds in the previous two years, we have had 32 nominations to various local good causes, totaling 16,000 pounds. We are having a presentation evening on Saturday 7th January 2023 at Wensum Valley Hotel and Golf Club Taverham, Norwich where we hope representatives of these charities will be able to collect their donations.
A full 3 course carvery dinner will be available with 1 free ticket per nominated charity. Entertainment by Nigel Boy Syer and Marc James. Large raffle will be held during the evening, further donated prizes will be welcome.
Arrival for this event is 5.30pm sit down 6.00pm. Entertainment approximately 8.00pm. Ticket prices for the event will be 33.00 per person, and can be obtained shortly by calling Bob Parke on 07860174906. Looks like being a busy night so best to get your order in early.
List of charities already nominated as follows:
Norfolk and Norwich Hospitals charity 1,500.00
East Anglian Air Ambulance 1,500.00
Blood Cancer UK 1,000.00
MS Therapy Centre Chedgrave 500.00
MS Therapy Centre Norwich 1,500.00
Big C 2,000.00
McMillan Nurses 500.00

That's not the end of it, we still have money left to donate but will wait till after the New Year events and sort out when we have final balance. Expected to be approximately 6,000.00.
At this point I would like to thank my Show Committee, all helpers and sponsors, traders and exhibitors and above all you the general public. Your support has been top class.
Just one more event, Charity Dinner and entertainment on Sunday 8th January 2023, when we welcome back Paula MaCaskill from Fort William who will be entertaining us with her usual 3 hour non stop performance. Full 3 course carvery meal. Arrival 12.30, sit down 1.00pm. Entertainment 3.00pm till approximately 6.00pm.
Tickets available shortly from Bob Parke on 07860174960. Cost is 33.00 each. Normally do this as seperate fund raiser but have decided this year to add money raised to Marsham Show Charity Fund.
Bed and Breakfast available at hotel, cost 40.00 per person, single room supplement add 19.50.
Be good to see you all again and don't forget the raffle.

Kind Regards to all

Marsham show

17/02/2022

Hello again. Its been a while since we posted on here. Sad to say with a lump in my throat, that Marsham Show will no longer be going ahead, mainly due to getting old and other health issues. Have enjoyed building the show up year on year and 2021 was the best ever.
I would like to thank all of you who supported my show committee and me over the years, to build what many people believe to be the best show in the area. Thanks also go to the people who helped to set the show up including, sponsors, advertisers traders and craft stalls and caterers .Especially Bridget for drinks and biscuits. My apologies if I have missed any one out.
We plan to have a meeting in late March when we hope to decide on which charities will benefit from distribution of funds.
A presentation evening with meal will be planned later in summer. The harvest day and possibly a few other things planned for weekend of 13th and 14th August. Thanks again everyone for your support. Its been a hell of a ride
