At the Immanuel Project, we're about much more than providing food and a warm welcome. We work alongside community partners to offer advice, support and guidance to people facing a range of challenges.

Unfortunately, the layout of our building makes it difficult to offer private conversations when people need help. Many of our guests want support with housing applications, addiction recovery, benefits, or simply someone to talk to, but we don't currently have a quiet, confidential space where those conversations can happen comfortably.

We've applied for a grant from Incommunities to purchase furniture and equipment that will help us create a welcoming, private support area. This space would make a real difference to people seeking help at some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Last week we said goodbye to Susie, who’s been with us for the past six months while working with Oxford University.

She’s been doing research for a paper on homelessness and chose the Immanuel Project as her focus. It’s given her a real, honest insight into the challenges some of our guests face, and along the way she’s become part of the Immanuel family. She’s jumped in wherever needed, helped out, and brought so much kindness and energy to the place.

We’re really grateful for everything she’s done and the heart she’s brought to her time with us.

We were visited by Jack from GamCare this week, a fabulous charity that provides support and advice for anyone affected by gambling.

Providing an opportunity for anyone who needs help, is a core part of what we do at the Immanuel Project.

Yesterday we said farewell to our wonderful Peter, who is returning to Hong Kong after 6 months working with us.

Peter has been an absolute pleasure to have as part of the Immanuel Team.

This week it was our turn to be served lunch, and we were treated to an absolute feast! A lovely gesture from Nando's!

We were joined by some lovely colleagues from Nando’s today, who helped us prep and serve food to our guests. Nando’s are a massive support to us regularly at the Immanuel Project, donating food and it was great to have the help of some of their team today!

Yesterday we said goodbye to Yvonne, our Wellbeing and Guest Engaged Lead. She’s brought fun, laughter and light to the Immanuel Project over the last 12 months.

She will be massively missed by our staff, volunteers and guests. Goodluck and thank you Yvonne, don’t be a stranger!
