Women Working Worldwide Women Working Worldwide was established in 1987 and we work with women to release their capacity to claim their rights as workers.

We are a Manchester-based charity, working in partnership with local organisations, NGOs, Unions and Companies, to assist and empower women workers in global supply chains to claim their rights and receive decent wages for their work . We are a small, nimble, feminist, women-only, trade justice, anti-poverty, labour rights organisation. We do not ask for much – just that women are treated equally,

no more no less, and that women workers be accorded their rights as workers. We should not need to fight to establish these rights: they are already laid down in national and international laws and conventions. But many women workers are not aware of these laws and conventions and in many cases these laws are not implemented. We consider some of our strengths to be:

Our partner led approach – projects are always developed in consultation with partners. Our use of Participatory Action Research to discover from women workers themselves how they see their situations. Our roots in the women’s movement – we implement feminist principles of collective and cooperative working

Our clear focus on gender and labour rights. A skilled and committed workforce with a wide and diverse group of supporters. Our size – as a small organisation we can be flexible and responsive

Our experience – we have been delivering and developing our work for 30 years; giving us excellent experience and wide ranging international links.

So great to see an impactful campaign to highlight the benefits of speaking up against gender based violence and harassment, with so much cross-sectoral support. Making workplaces safer for women means safer work for everyone.

Women power the world’s supply chains, but too often, their health and safety are overlooked.

To commemorate the international day for health and safety at work, Women Working Worldwide has published a new blog exploring the risks women workers face globally, and what needs to change to protect them.

On this International Day for Health and Safety at Work, we are spotlighting the need to expand our understanding of what “safety” truly means for women workers. It is not only about hard hats or hazard signs. It is also about dignity, agency and power. It is about ensuring that women can work w...

**Happy International Women’s Day – Give to Gain** 🥳

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate something powerful: generosity and collaboration. When we give, we all gain. For nearly 40 years, Women Working Worldwide has stood alongside women fighting for fairness, dignity and voice at work. And none of this has been done alone.

Across the world 🌍, women can make up over 70% of the global supply chain workforce contributing significantly to the global economies’ movement. Yet too often women workers are undervalued, underpaid and insecure and many face sexual harassment and discrimination.

And yet — change is possible!

Because of you and generous funders and collaboration across NGOs and trade unions we have seen real transformation.

Together, Women Working Worldwide have:
● Trained 20,000+ trainers, union leaders and practitioners across Africa and Asia
● Helped over 500,000 women understand and claim their rights
● Tackled sexual harassment and gender-based violence in Asia and Africa and much more…

“This education you have given us is better than money.” Flower worker, Kenya 🌻

That is what **Give to Gain** looks like
● When funders invest in women’s rights, businesses gain stronger supply chains. 💪
● When companies, unions and NGOs collaborate, workers gain safer workplaces. 💪
● When women gain confidence and knowledge, communities gain stability. 💪

But progress is fragile. Funding for small women’s rights organisations is shrinking.

In Sudan, sexual violence is being used as a weapon of war against women and girls.

UN Women is working tirelessly to provide survivors with protection, psychological support and essential medical care.

This horrific human rights violation must stop.
