Thank you to everyone who played in and supported this weekend's Cumbria Senior County Closed Championships in Carlisle. A total of 62 players from several clubs competed.

In the men’s A competition Carlisle’s Ben Hetherington retained his county championship, overcoming clubmate Joseph Broadley in the final. In the women’s competition, a new county champion was crowned with Carlisle’s Selina Harper pipping Charlotte Kirkwood (Kendal Squash Club) in the final.

Well done to our juniors who competed in stage one of the England Squash inter-county event in Newcastle in November (sorry we're a little late to post).

Against some exceptionally tough opposition our juniors did the county proud and produced some excellent performances.

Congratulations to our boys under-11s who finished 2nd in their group and are through to the plate event of stage two.

The 2024/25 season Cumbria County Closed Championships will take place at Carlisle Squash Club on January 25 and 26. Entries must be made by 10am on Saturday 18 January.

As in previous seasons, the competition will be graded to ensure players get the best possible games over the weekend.
