Paper Marbling Workshop with Jude Riley
Date: Thursday, 14th August
Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm
Cost: £45 (includes all materials)

Discover the art of paper marbling in this hands-on workshop led by Jude Riley, exhibiting maker. You’ll learn the basics of this ancient decorative technique by floating colours on a thickened water surface and transferring designs onto paper. Starting with simple sprinkling methods, you’ll build up to creating intricate patterns often seen in antique book endpapers.

Each participant will leave with at least 10 unique A4 marbled sheets. If time permits, you’ll also try the oldest marbling style—Japanese suminagashi.

Max group size: 6
All materials provided
Wear old clothes (plastic apron provided)

Some papers may need to be collected later or posted

This creative, messy, and addictive process is perfect for anyone looking to try something unique to create something beautiful.
