We’re incredibly excited that Week of Words is back! Our friends The Creative Place have put together the most extraordinary fortnight of activity, celebrating all things wordy, from local authors and poets to songwriters and performers.

We’re delighted that 60 Miles is part of the Book Cafe on 14 August! Alongside some of Northampton’s finest authors, we’ll be at Esquires Coffee Northampton with copies of our comic book ‘60 Miles presents Community Comics’ - a unique anthology that captures the range of experiences that make up the town we all call home through an exciting range of perspectives, forms and styles. We’d love to see you there for a cuppa!

More details about all the Week of Words events, Creative Quest and film challenges can be found at https://northamptonfilmfestival.eventive.org/schedule

The events have been made possible through support from Northamptonshire Community Foundation, Northampton Town Centre BID and West Northamptonshire Council

We’re delighted to be supporting Northampton’s Expression of Interest to be the UK’s first Town of Culture!

Through our interdisciplinary projects spanning theatre, photography, publishing, filmmaking, audio and shopping-centre takeovers, we’ve seen first-hand the pride, connection and sense of belonging that comes from championing the people of Northampton.

The Town of Culture is a phenomenal opportunity to bring Northamptonian communities together, spark ambitious creative activity all year round and raise the creative pulse of our hometown as a place where everyone can thrive 🧡

We can’t believe it’s the first anniversary of ‘60 Miles presents Community Comics’ and the launch of our exhibition at V and B!!

This was a particularly special project for us. We had the most incredible time working with 6 amazing Northants community groups, artists, heritage communicators and facilitators to capture and collate remarkable stories that tie us together.

The book is now available at 34 libraries across the county and 6 schools, as well as the British Library, the Bodleian Library Oxford University, the Cambridge University Library, National Library of Scotland, National Library of Wales and Trinity College Dublin.

And if you want to get your hands on your own copy we have just made more available via Etsy!

18 freelancers helped create the 60 Miles Presents: Community Comics projects.

From the early days of funding applications and curating the 6 community groups all the way through to graphic design and facilitation of the exhibition, everyone has had an important part to play.

Thank you to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for making this project possible and to everyone who worked so hard and with such passion. ❤
