If all followers can re-share this! Such a shame for our colleagues in Runcorn Sea Cadets. Right in the middle of boating season, we hope this can be recovered!

Wishing the absolute best of luck to our Year 12 pupil, Chris, as he sets sail on an incredible two-week adventure in The Tall Ships Races! ⛵🌊

This spectacular international event brings together a fleet of classic vessels to teach sail training and teamwork to young people from all over the world. 🌍⚓

We’re so proud of you for taking on this challenge, Chris. Safe travels and bon voyage!

A late post from us, however, last weekend we held the Manchester District Sea Cadets Rowing Competition. All cadets did a fantastic job competing, and the results are:

A massive well done to:
Manchester Trafalgar Sea Cadets
Sea Cadets Trafford
Tameside Sea Cadet Corps

Who will be going through to the Sea Cadets North West Area Rowing Competition for 2026 to represent the district.

Special mention to
Middleton & Chadderton Sea Cadets and Irlam and Cadishead Sea Cadets who entered the competition for the first time - it was great to see you!

And a massive thank you to all the volunteers who put the day together and undertook all the safety-critical roles to ensure the day was a success!

Tameside Sea Cadet Corps are now able to make full use of their fantastic resource at Dove Stone Reservoir to the benefit of cadets interested in Paddlesports, Rowing and Sailing.

With the introduction of mountain biking at the unit, it looks like it will be a busy summer!

Our Cadets and Staff spent the weekend taking part in field training at Altcar Training Camp! 🏕️💪

Did you know that several units across our District also have Royal Marines Cadets (RMC) Detachments for young people aged 13–18?

While both Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets enjoy the wide range of opportunities available through the Sea Cadets, the RMC programme places a greater focus on fieldcraft, navigation, map reading, leadership, and outdoor skills.

If you're looking for adventure, challenge, and teamwork, the Royal Marines Cadets could be for you!

Our units with Royal Marines Cadets Detachments are:
Sea Cadets Trafford
Tameside Sea Cadet Corps
Middleton & Chadderton Sea Cadets
Stockport Sea Cadets Unit
Manchester Trafalgar Sea Cadets

Contact them directly for more information about joining up as a Royal Marines Cadet or Adult Volunteer!

Note: Cadets are trained by qualified instructors in the safe use of Drill Purpose Weapons.
