Updated Cosgrove Village Parking

Over the past few months, many residents have made a real effort to park more responsibly in the village — and it’s been noticed and appreciated. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to adjust how and where they park.

However, the problem hasn’t fully gone away. As you walk through Cosgrove, it’s clear that several of our footpaths were never designed to take the weight of cars or vans. Some are already cracked or sinking, and once damaged, they’re costly and difficult to repair.

Everybody who drives understands that certain rules exist for the benefit of all of us — drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and the wider community. Most of these rules are simple common sense, and most of us learned them when we first passed our test.

If you’d like a quick refresher, the link below covers the Highway Code guidance on waiting and parking. Parking in the direction of traffic is a good start, and making sure you’re not parking on the path is even more important.

The rules are simple — and they protect the village we all share.

everybody that drives a car would appreciate that there are certain rules in place for the benefit of both the driver, passengers, and the collective good of the human race. Most rules are there for a reason; most rules are common sense. If you click on the link below, this should help to refresh your knowledge of the Highway Code that you were tested on when you took your test originally. Parking in the direction of the traffic might be a first step, and then making sure that you’re not parking on the path could be the next. The simple rules are hard to ignore, really..
