Phew — June was a scorcher ☀️ and it gave us the perfect reminder of why flexibility matters in workplace wellbeing.

When it became clear that trains into Bristol were grinding to a halt, our planned Mental Health First Aid training with Bristol Old Vic and Paraorchestra could easily have fallen apart. Instead, we pivoted — fast. Switching to our interactive online delivery meant every delegate could still qualify, learn, and connect… all from the comfort of home.

This Summer has been a whirlwind of and Wellbeing at Work training at Soundcastle — both in-person and online — with organisations who are truly investing in safer, more compassionate workplaces. From charities to universities to national networks, we’ve been inspired by the commitment to building cultures where people feel seen, supported, and able to thrive.

A huge thank you to Newham Music, University of Liverpool, Wellbeing at Work East Sussex, East Sussex County Council, Music Mark - The UK Association for Music Education, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Bristol Old Vic, Paraorchestra and Youth Music for choosing to upskill your teams and send more confident, capable Mental Health First Aiders into the world. Your investment in wellbeing genuinely makes a difference.

Happy to all our AMAZING peers, making amazing things happen every day 🙏

Today we are celebrating our Musical Beacons - Ready to Play! programme, which supports bonding and play between adoptive and foster children and their grown-ups 🥁

The wonderful Fernando Machado has just been published on the Arts Award blog, by Trinity College London, sharing his experiences of delivering this work as part of the Soundcastle team 🤩

‘I can’t think of any other service or support that we’ve been able to access in such a positive way... this has been about filling up the bucket of good feelings!’

Clore Social Leaders Celebration Day 2026! 🎉

Our Co-CEO Rachael has been part of the Social Leaders Hastings Cohort for the past 6 months, exploring leadership styles, reflective practice and how to make the most difference whilst staying well!

Her journey has run parallel to many challenges at Soundcastle, however her passion for social leadership and the support of an amazing team of peers has kept her showing up week after week.

Recently our People's Music Collective were invited to attend this amazing experience, drawing musical inspiration from the forest, the night, the birds 🌿

This marks the start of a new chapter for our mental health recovery work - we are embarking on a creative collaboration with nature, composing new music alongside and in partnership with the natural world and exploring the impact of time in nature as well as time with music on the mental health recovery journey.

Did you know that our Musical Beacons programme is now available to commission into new settings! 🪇

This innovative family music-making programme is all about supporting creativity, connection and positive mental health.

Our team specialise in working in areas of high deprivation and challenge, bringing joy and colour where they are most needed.

We are currently collaborating with nurseries, refuges, fostering agencies, delivering in person workshops, online sessions and staff training & development.

‘This is one of my favourite groups by far! It’s the perfect mix of everything’ MB Parent 25/26.
