Last week, we were delighted to welcome The Old Sweats for their second visit to join us for Bacon Baps & Coffee! 🥓☕️

The Old Sweats are a local veterans’ group who usually meet every Monday at the Legion in Bourton-on-the-Water. It was lovely to have them back with us, enjoying some good food, coffee and plenty of conversation and camaraderie.

We’re always pleased to welcome local groups and community organisations, and it was fantastic to see The Old Sweats returning for a second time. We hope to see you again soon! 🇬🇧

🎶 Dolly Parton Sing-Along 🎶

After our Residents' Meeting this afternoon, we invited everyone to stay and join us for a wonderful Dolly Parton sing-along filled with all their favourite songs. 🤠

The room was soon filled with smiles, laughter and plenty of singing as residents enjoyed reminiscing through some of Dolly's much-loved classics.

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, sparking happy memories and creating moments of joy and connection.

Thank you to everyone who joined in and made the afternoon so much fun! 💕🎤

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

There’s something truly special about the joy our four-legged friends bring to Edwardstow Court. ❤️

Our residents will literally jump out of bed or stop whatever they’re doing when they hear that our very special therapy dogs, Iggy and Ronnie, have arrived! Their friendly faces, cheeky personalities and individual charm never fail to bring smiles, laughter and plenty of cuddles.

The connection between our residents and Iggy and Ronnie is so heartwarming to see. They bring comfort, companionship and wonderful moments of joy, while creating memories that are treasured by everyone.

A BIG thank you to our very special therapy dogs, Iggy and Ronnie, for all the happiness you bring to Edwardstow Court. 🐶❤️

Here are a few photos from some of our recent group activities, including beautiful teacup flower arrangements and colourful summer watercolours. 🌺☕🖌️

Our group activities are about so much more than creating something lovely to take home. They provide opportunities for residents to connect with others, share stories and skills, make new friendships and enjoy a sense of belonging.

Creative activities can also encourage concentration, self-expression and reminiscence, while the social side of coming together can help reduce feelings of isolation and create those all-important moments of laughter and conversation. 💕

Our residents have been getting creative and made these beautiful tea light holders using a lovely decoupage technique. 🌸

It was wonderful to see everyone choosing their favourite colours and designs, carefully applying each piece and watching their creations come to life.

🌌🚀 A Space-Themed Coffee Morning!☕✨

Yesterday, we took a trip beyond the stars without leaving Edwardstow Court! 🌍🌙

Our space-themed coffee morning sparked some wonderful conversations as we chatted about recent solar eclipse, the wonders of our universe and, of course, the age-old question… is Pluto a planet or a star? 🪐🔭

It was lovely to see residents sharing their knowledge, memories and opinions while enjoying a cuppa and a good chat together. 💫

Age Friendly Cotswolds 💚

We’re proud to support Age Friendly Cotswolds, a community initiative funded by the Summerfield Charitable Trust.

Age Friendly Cotswolds aims to work with local communities to create places where people can thrive as they age. Feeling connected, valued and able to shape the places they call home. 🌿

Gemma and Kerry recently met with Karen, Age Friendly Champion from Cotswold Friends, and Stow Town Mayor Alison, who is an Age Friendly Ambassador. It was wonderful to come together, share valuable information and ideas and celebrate the importance of creating welcoming, inclusive communities where everyone can feel connected and valued.

We’re delighted to have proudly placed our Age Friendly Cotswolds window sticker at Edwardstow Court to show our support. 💚

A Trip Down Memory Lane ☕🍰

We recently enjoyed a lovely trip to The Old Prison Café in Northleach, where residents had the chance to discover more about the fascinating heritage of the Old Prison and learn about rural life in the Cotswolds.

Of course, no outing would be complete without a delicious cake and a cuppa! 🍰☕

It was wonderful to share stories, reminisce about times gone by and enjoy a change of scenery together. Days like this are about so much more than a trip out. They create opportunities for conversation, connection and making new memories. 💕

💖 A very BIG thank you to Beautylicious!💖

We’d like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Verity at Beautylicious Bourton for her incredibly generous donation of over 40 different shades of nail varnish! 💅

Our residents absolutely love having their nails painted, and these sessions are about so much more than choosing a pretty colour.

They create those lovely little moments of connection between our residents and colleagues. Sitting together, chatting, laughing, sharing stories and simply enjoying each other’s company. Sometimes it’s the quiet conversations, the smiles and the time spent together that mean the most.

With so many gorgeous colours to choose from, there’s now something for everyone! 🥰
