We know that Mother’s Day can be a challenging day for many people. For those missing their mum, remembering a child, or thinking about someone special who has died, the day can bring a mix of emotions.

However you are feeling today, please know that you are not alone.

At Just ‘B’, we support people experiencing grief, bereavement and difficult times. If Mother’s Day feels particularly hard this year, we are here to listen and help. You can read our “Looking after yourself on Mother’s Day” resource and find information about the support available here: justb.org.uk/resources/mothers-day/

Take things at your own pace today, and be gentle with yourself. 💜

We're very grateful to Andy Johnston, who is taking on an incredible challenge which will see him sail across the world to raise funds for Just 'B'. Andy will join the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in April 2026, and we couldn't be prouder of him!

Andy is keen to give back following the support his then-12-year-old son received from our bereavement counsellors at Just 'B', after his wife died of a rare form of cancer.

Andy said: “The counselling he received from Just B helped him find resilience and a purpose in life. I owe Just 'B' a huge amount for helping Thomas become the fabulous young man he is today. The Clipper Race is my opportunity to be able to do this”.

If you'd like to donate to Andy's generous fundraiser, you can do so here: https://loom.ly/BV6yZiI

We are deeply moved by the incredible support shown in memory of 19-year-old Bailey Chadwick, who died following a hit-and-run in Pateley Bridge earlier this year.

Bailey's family, friends, and community recently came together at a race night, raising £6,752.88 for Just ‘B’ after receiving bereavement support from our team.

Dayle Knights, Bailey’s mum, said:
“I am overwhelmed with all the support from my friends and community. Thank you all.”

Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved, and especially to Bailey’s loved ones, who continue to honour him with such courage and compassion. Their generosity will help ensure others can access support when they need it most. ❤️

This Remembrance Day, we're proud to confirm that we've received a Veteran Healthcare Alliance accreditation, demonstrating our dedication to providing increased care and support for the veterans community.

Clare Schmidt, Director of Client Services, said:
"Veterans bring unique strengths and experiences, be that as a patient, client or coleague. It's important for us to ensure these individuals always feel recognised, supported and valued.
"Sharing this news around Remembrance Day feels especially meaningful, as we remember the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and reaffirm our commitment to them."

Did you know that by signing up as a Co-op Member you're not only getting access to member benefits - you're also directly helping local causes like Just 'B'?
Here's how it works:
When you become a member of the Co-op, a portion of the profits is channelled into the Co-op Local Community Fund. That fund supports charities, community groups and projects across the UK, helping to support local people by helping organisations like us to continue our work.

From 20 October to 15 November, Co-op will donate £5 for every new member who joins using the Co-op App (up to 10 members). That means you can help Just 'B' raise up to £50 extra, simply by signing up!

We were so proud to attend the Big Harrogate Sleepout last week, alongside the Harrogate Homeless Project in recognition for those facing homelessness, bereavement or emotional difficulties.

Michael White supported at the event, and said: "It was great to see so many local businesses coming together in support of two vital organisations that extend a hand to those experiencing hardship, and I'm proud to have taken part.
It was an incredibly eye opening experience to take part in the sleepout. I am usually a good sleeper, however it was challenging to settle and in the end I only had 4 hours of broken sleep. It is certainly something I wouldn't wish for anyone, however sadly this is a reality for far too many people."

One question could make all the difference.
Talking about su***de doesn’t increase risk – it helps someone feel heard, supported, and less alone. 💛

10/09/2025

👋 A simple message can mean so much.
Today on Su***de Prevention Awareness Day, let’s remember the power of checking in. You never know what someone might be carrying – your words could be the reminder they’re not alone. 💛
