"Rotary’s role, as an independent, trusted voice rooted in communities, has been essential. PolioPlus showed that when public institutions and civil society work together with clarity of purpose, persistence, and mutual respect, extraordinary things are possible."

In this article, Judith Diment reflects on why is in a unique position to help rid the world of polio through global co-operation 🌍🤝

Thursday 23rd April 2026 is 'World Book Night.' Sadly, that night some adults won't be reading a book or anything else for that matter because around 15% of working age adults in England struggle with basic, functional literacy. This can have a dramatic effect on their lives. The good news is that there is free, confidential, one-to-one help available. Volunteers from Read Easy Wyre Forest will be in the foyer of Kidderminster Library on Thursday 23rd April 2026 from 10am to 4pm. If you know someone who wants help with their reading they can find out more about our scheme by coming in to talk to someone or contacting either - Raine on 07800 860299 email [email protected] or Sue on 07807 836746 email [email protected] More information is available at www.readeasy.org.uk

✨🎅 Santa Sleigh Success!🎄✨

Following our Santa Sleigh evenings across the Wyre Forest in December, plus weekend visits to local supermarkets, Bewdley Rotary wrapped up the season with a fantastic Christmas Sleigh Gala Evening – and what a night it was!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’re delighted to announce a total of £9,012.26 raised for charities and local good causes 🙌❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, or volunteered. This amazing total truly shows what can be achieved when our community comes together with compassion and festive goodwill.

Special thanks to the local groups who volunteered their time and received well-earned donations:
🎁 Kidderminster Prostrate Cancer Group
🎁 Sociables Hub & CREWS
🎁 The Civic
🎁 Wyre Forest Citizens-Advice
🎁 Wribbenhall Guides
🎁 Bewdley Scouts Group
🎁 WF9 Scout Group

The Gala Evening was more than a celebration – it was a powerful reminder of the positive impact local support can make.

🎄 Looking ahead! Bewdley Rotary has already applied for a licence to run the Santa Sleigh from 1–21 December 2026.
