Please support the fantastic Layla 🤩

I’m taking a Leap of Faith for Cornerstone! (And I need your help)

Hi everyone, I’m not exactly a fan of heights. In fact, "terrified" might be an understatement! However, on 14 August 2026, I’m going to be facing that fear head-on by participating in the Strathclyde ZipSlide to raise money for Cornerstone Scottish Borders.

I won’t be doing it alone—I’ve got my "fundraising buddy," Danny Lindores, by my side. Danny is a legendary regular at our Connects Hub, and his huge heart is exactly the motivation I need to step off that platform.

Why I’m Doing This
The Connects Hub is a vital resource right here in our community. It provides a safe, inclusive space for individuals with disabilities and support needs, offering everything from sensory rooms and therapeutic spaces to breakfast clubs and life-skills workshops.

Every penny raised goes directly toward expanding these opportunities and ensuring everyone in the Borders has a place where all our services truly belong.

How You Can Support
If you’re able to support my "leap of faith," there are two ways you can help:
Sponsor My Slide: Any donation, no matter how small, makes a massive difference. You can donate directly via my JustGiving page here:

https://www.justgiving.com/page/layla-anderson-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

Join Our Auction: We are also hosting an online auction and raffle on Facebook. Keep an eye out for some incredible prizes (including some local favorites!), and feel free to share the link with friends and family.

I’ll be sure to share the photos (and likely some very "expressive" facial expressions) of the big day once it's done!

Thank you all so much for your support, encouragement, and for helping me reach my goal for such a fantastic cause.

Best regards,
Layla Anderson

Today is World Autism Awareness Day & the theme is Autism and Humanity: Every Life Has Value.

This theme highlights a simple but powerful truth. Every autistic person has equal worth, dignity, and the right to live fully and safely in society.

This means looking beyond labels and stereotypes. It means recognising strengths as well as support needs. It also means supporting neuroinclusive environments in healthcare, education, workplaces, and communities.

Instead of asking autistic people to fit into narrow expectations, ask society to become more understanding, flexible, and inclusive.

Join us celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on Saturday (21st)😊

Wear your odd socks and send us pictures to post, or comment on our post with your photo.

Or if you feel like coming to see us in person and hearing about our fantastic Shared Lives service, come wearing odd socks to our coffee morning event tomorrow! 🧦☕️🍰

The more colourful and mis matched the better to celebrate the diversity and raise awareness. ❤️💜💙💚💛

When socks are laid out their shapes resemble chromosomes, highlighting the extra 21st chromosome that causes Down Syndrome.

Let’s see your groovy socks!!
