Where we work

Brighter Future is based in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, India. Vizianagaram is a large city situated on a narrow coastal plain between the mountains of Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal

The majority of people here live in rural areas with very poor infrastructure. Life is hard and survival is dependent on finding work as daily labourers in the fields. Income is very low and mo

st people live on less than 50p a day. This is not enough to feed a family or pay for things we would consider to be essential, like medical care and education. For people living in poverty, over-crowding, poor diet and a lack of sanitation means that disease is rife. If there is no money for food, there is certainly no money to pay for doctors and medicines. As a result, treatable diseases frequently prove fatal

Thank you for making our India Day such a wonderful success!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the henna tattoos, traditional saris, delicious homemade samosas and cakes, colourful handmade bags, and our photography exhibition showcasing the work we do.

A special highlight was the opportunity to meet Victor and hear more about the incredible work that is possible because of your genersoity and support.

Thank you to all our volunteers and everyone who supported the event. Every purchase, donation and conversation helps make a real difference.

🎓 Congratulations, Victor! 🐄🌾

A huge congratulations to Victor on successfully completing his 10-week Animal Husbandry course at Harper Adams University!

This achievement is a testament to Victor's dedication, perseverance, and passion. Over the past 10 weeks, he committed himself to early mornings, late nights, and even Saturdays to complete the course—demonstrating remarkable hard work and determination every step of the way.

The formal graduation ceremony took place in Newport on Thursday, 9 July, where Victor proudly received his certificate alongside fellow graduates.

We are incredibly proud of Victor and all the effort and commitment he has invested in his studies. Your dedication has truly paid off, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact you'll continue to make in the field of animal husbandry.

Early starts, long days, and plenty of learning 🚜🌱

From 4AM tractor driving and livestock care to hands-on lessons in sustainable farming, Victor is gaining valuable experience alongside students from across Africa and beyond at Harper Adams University.

Victor says, “The days are long and full of learning, but every day is giving me valuable experience and exposure.”

The best part? Learning directly in the fields, sharing ideas with farmers, and exchanging knowledge and cultures with fellow students from around the world. 🌍

Victor starts a 10-week course in Sustainable Farming and Development at Harper Adams University today, alongside a group of 14 students 🌱

For the past 15 years, Victor has been committed to farming and animal husbandry, building a strong foundation to support our communities. More recently, our work has expanded into Orissa, serving families in leprosy colonies and surrounding communities.

This next step is an important one. Through this training, Victor hopes to gain new skills and insights that can be shared—especially with young people and the children at Brighter Future. Our vision is to strengthen food security and create sustainable income opportunities through community gardens.

We’re looking forward to seeing how this learning will grow into lasting impact 🌾

Victor and Supriya have arrived in the UK! 🇬🇧✨
We’re so excited to welcome them and have them with us over the coming days. This weekend they will be spending time with trustee Joy and attending church tomorrow morning at Ringmer Baptist Church.

On Monday Victor heads to Kent, where he will meet all the trustees this week before beginning his much-anticipated animal husbandry course at Harper Adams in Newport.

Good Friday showed us the depth of Jesus’ love through sacrifice and servanthood.

Today (Easter Sunday) we celebrate His victory over death.

Because of the resurrection, we live with a hope that is alive and present today.

This Easter, may that living hope shape the way we love, serve, and care for others. ✝️
