Where we work

Brighter Future is based in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, India. Vizianagaram is a large city situated on a narrow coastal plain between the mountains of Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal

The majority of people here live in rural areas with very poor infrastructure. Life is hard and survival is dependent on finding work as daily labourers in the fields. Income is very low and mo

st people live on less than 50p a day. This is not enough to feed a family or pay for things we would consider to be essential, like medical care and education. For people living in poverty, over-crowding, poor diet and a lack of sanitation means that disease is rife. If there is no money for food, there is certainly no money to pay for doctors and medicines. As a result, treatable diseases frequently prove fatal

Victor starts a 10-week course in Sustainable Farming and Development at Harper Adams University today, alongside a group of 14 students 🌱

For the past 15 years, Victor has been committed to farming and animal husbandry, building a strong foundation to support our communities. More recently, our work has expanded into Orissa, serving families in leprosy colonies and surrounding communities.

This next step is an important one. Through this training, Victor hopes to gain new skills and insights that can be shared—especially with young people and the children at Brighter Future. Our vision is to strengthen food security and create sustainable income opportunities through community gardens.

We’re looking forward to seeing how this learning will grow into lasting impact 🌾

Victor and Supriya have arrived in the UK! 🇬🇧✨
We’re so excited to welcome them and have them with us over the coming days. This weekend they will be spending time with trustee Joy and attending church tomorrow morning at Ringmer Baptist Church.

On Monday Victor heads to Kent, where he will meet all the trustees this week before beginning his much-anticipated animal husbandry course at Harper Adams in Newport.
